HAVE YOU REMEMBERED IHM IN YOUR WILL? A bequest to your parish will allow you to continue in death the Christian steward-ship you practice in life. The Catholic Foundation of North Georgia can assist you in remembering IHM in your Will. Those who make a bequest or a planned gift to IHM become members of the parish Legacy Society and the Archdiocesan Deo Gratias Society. For more information, contact Juliette Greco of the Catholic Foundation of North Georgia at [email protected] or 404-497-9440.

STEWARDSHIP THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK “When Jesus came to the place, he looked up and said to him, ‘Zacchaeus, hurry and

come down, for today I must stay at your house.’” — Luke 19:5

Jesus saw goodness in Zacchaeus’ heart and called him to be in His presence. Jesus has called all of us into His presence and awaits our thankful responses.

THE ALL SOULS MASS OF REMEMBRANCE Monsignor Al and Father Carlos cordially invite you to the bilingual All Souls Mass of Remembrance for our parishioners and family members who have died in the last year. THE BOOK OF THE NAMES OF THE DEAD The Book of the Names of the Dead will be placed near the baptismal font be-ginning on All Souls Day. Everyone is welcome to inscribe the names of their deceased loved ones. As you pass the Book and see the burning candle upon en-tering and leaving church during November, remember to offer up a prayer for all whose names are enshrined there.

ALTAR OF THE DEAD All Souls Day is the Day of the Dead (el Día de Muertos) in Mexico. A beautiful custom associated with the Day of the Dead is the family altar or ofrenda. Famil-iarized by the recent Disney movie “Coco,” these altars are based on popular belief that the souls of the departed return at this time of the year, and show them that they are not forgotten. An ofrenda will be erected in the church narthex on All Souls Day by members of our Hispanic community.

This month our inquirers will be discerning their readiness for initiation into the Catholic Church. Pray for wisdom, grace, and courage as they prepare to embrace the cross of Christ.

For those who determine that they are ready, the Rite of Acceptance and Welcom-ing will take place at 11:30 and 1:30 Masses on Sunday, November 24.

Q When are inquirers ready for the next stage of the initiation process?

A When inquirers feel ready to publicly state their sincere desire to follow Jesus Christ, when they show evidence of first faith and conversion and an intention to con-form their lives to Christ and the Gospel, they are ready for the next step: the Rite of Acceptance into the Order of Cate-chumens. This rite can be celebrated two or three time during the year—whenever an inquirer is ready.

For more information about the process of Christian Initiation at IHM, contact Drew Denton in the parish office.
