Our vision for the DOP Annual Conference is to be the conference of choice for allpsychologists focusing on the world of work. We see the conference as providing anopportunity for these professionals to obtain insight into current ideas, discussions andresearch in the area, and network with others in the field.

Our vision

The conference will give you an opportunity to meet with academics, researchers, practitioners and postgraduates of psychology with particular interest in application ofpsychology to the workplace. The lecture programme includes internationally renounedkeynote speakers. Additionally, there will be a mix of workshops, symposia, individualpapers and posters presented, plus social activities and networking opportunities.

The event will also be publicised on the Society website and in The Psychologist, the monthly publication sent to all members of the society.

Impact of the event

The Conference theme for 2017 is ‘Research into practice: Relevance and rigour’. Thisyear’s theme celebrates the value that we offer as applied psychologists: Generatinginsightful, scientific research, and translating this into practice.

We champion both rigour and relevance: Utilising a rigorous, evidence-based approach, in which we test, question and challenge ideas; and ensuring that we make a relevant and timely difference to organisations and individuals.

The DOP Conference 2017 will showcase the ongoing excellent work in psychologicalresearch and practice, and provide an opportunity for discussion, debate and challengeon how we can best utilise our skills to continue to make a meaningful impact in theworld of work.

As per DOP tradition the 2017 conference we will be inviting other BPS Divisions to theconference. This offers a unique opportunity for exhibitors to access potential new clientsthat they may have previously not been able to reach.
