Doosan Infracore Engine BG

Since 1958, Doosan Infracore has produced and developed diesel and natural gas engines for

commercial vehicles, military vehicles, construction equipment, generator sets and marine. Now,

Doosan introduces a new engine; the DP Series; V-type engines for generator sets. An easy

installation, high performance, fuel efficiency and durability are what engine users always need,

which are in the new DP series V-type engine. With Doosan’s engineering expertise, the new

engine obtain the maximum power output and fuel efficiency while maintaining mechanical type

that helps customers manage an engine more easily and conveniently. In addition, an engine

naming scheme was also redefined for easy and quick recognition of engine information. If you

look at the new DP series, the most appealing part is simple design minimizing an impact of

installation and maintenance. The eye-catching part is the glossy “New Green” color, which gives a

clean, luxurious image.

Improved Fuel Efficiency Fuel consumption reduction thanks to stable combustion

One of the major cost parts for ownership is fuel cost. To solve this issue, the new DP series offer high fuel efficiency at the same time, power output is increased significantly. Thus, customers can enjoy with high fuel efficiency as well as higher power output than before.

Stable combustion can reduce unnecessary fuel consumption. By redesigning the intake air bend, the

DP series can save on fuel cost through stable combustion.

High Durability

Improved durability with reinforced exhaust manifold

A downtime of an engine is the most critical and time and cost consuming failure. Doosan Infracore

understands this hassle and difficulty well and tries to build enduring and durable engines so customers

can benefit from it. To achieve this, the rigidity of major parts - such as cylinder block, cylinder head,

crank shaft, con-rod, and piston ring - is improved by minimizing stress concentration and increasing

fatigue strength.

By applying HiSiMo as exhaust manifold material,

heat resistance is increased. Adding bracket at an

exhaust manifold prevents leak or crack due to

vibration.

Reinforced V belt for V12

High Performance Radiator

A V belt drives generator & water pump of an engine and supplies electricity to various electric devices

in the engine inside. To improve durability, the V belt was redesigned from the 4-row type to the 6-row

type. Likewise, the bearing of the fan drive was changed from single type to dual type to contribute to

the durability of an engine.

A radiator cools down the heat generated by an engine combustion. It is important because it prevents

overheat during operating an engine. The performance of the DP Series radiator was improved for

better durability, thanks to the redesigned intercooler & layout and material change.

Easy installation in cold region

Redesigned engine mounting bracket

Repositioned turbochargers

Jacket water heater ports are required in cold regions to aid starting an engine. The DP series offers

in- let and out let of jacket water heater ports to increase the ease of installation. It also reinforce

durability by increase an ability of preheating in cold regions.

The engine mounting bracket was redesigned to avoid interference with tools during installation.

It can save working time and minimize safety accidents.

The turbochargers are repositioned from the top of the flywheel housing to the left and right

directions to a secure space for an alternator of generator set. This also prevents interference with

an wire when lifting an engine. The repositioned turbochargers aid in much easier installation.

Mechanical type engine

A mechanical type engine provides higher ease of maintenance and repair than an electronic type engine.

Considering this benefit, the DP series offers in mechanical type engine. In spite of the power increase, the

mechanical type offers easy management and easy operation with maximum power output.

New belt cover and heat screen for safety and beatification

A fire caused by heat rarely occurs but can cause huge damage if it happens. The fuel

strainer was repositioned to secure sufficient space with the turbocharger so as to prevent fire caused

by overheat of an engine.

The material of the fuel line was changed from rubber to steel pipe to prevent damage by overheat. It

was adopted to comply with the Fire Services Act when operating generators in developed countries

such the U.S. In addition, rubber clip was applied to reduce vibration.

Safety and beautification are major factors as

well as performance and durability. The belt

cover and heat screen (protection from hot

exhaust manifold) are applied to prevent safety

accidents. It is also a condition to comply with the CE

Commonality of key parts

One of the worries of customers when they have a new engine is an increase in management cost caused

by change of parts. The DP series solve this issue by offering common major key parts. To do this,

management cost can be much saved. In the case of fuel systems, the existing injection pump, nozzle, and

high-pressure lines are carried over to the DP series.

New Coloring Scheme

New Naming Scheme

The new coloring scheme was introduced for the new DP Series Engines. “New Green” color was selected

for the engine for a clean, stable, and luxurious look.

The engine naming scheme was redefined for easy & quick recognition. Customers can recognize fuel

type, application, displacement, number of cylinder, exhaust system by simply checking new engine name.

For example, DP222LA is for diesel power generator, 22L displacement, 12 cylinders, turbo intercooler

type, and version A.
