Don't feel bad if you don't know all the applications for polyethylenimine. Neither do we. Nobody does, in fact. Because new ones are being discovered every day. That isn't exactly surprising. PEFs one of the most interesting and versatile chemical intermediates to come around in a long time. It's highly substantive to negative surfaces. And it'll undergo almost any reac- tion possible with simple amines. So it can be modi- fied ad infinitum. Producing polymers with widely diverse properties. For a wide variety of applications. Examples. PEI can be used to bind property modify- ing functional groups to textile fibers, for better dye- ability, printability, water- and shrink-resistance. It's great for both general and tie-coat adhesives, because of its cationic nature. And it can be used as an accelerator and coagulation aid in rubber process- ing. We may not know all the applications for PEI, but we probably know more about more of them than anybody else. We've even written a little book about PEI, which is yours for the asking. So's your spot on our Amine Logics mailing list. For either or both, write: Designed Chemicals Sales, The Dow Chemical Company, Midland, Michigan 48640. 28 C&EN

Don't feel bad if you don't know all the applications

for polyethylenimine.

Neither do we.

Nobody does, in fact. Because new ones are being discovered every day. That isn't exactly surprising. PEFs one of the most interesting and versatile chemical intermediates to come around in a long time. It's highly substantive to negative surfaces. And it'll undergo almost any reaction possible with simple amines. So it can be modified ad infinitum. Producing polymers with widely diverse properties. For a wide variety of applications. Examples. PEI can be used to bind property modifying functional groups to textile fibers, for better dye-

ability, printability, water- and shrink-resistance. It's great for both general and tie-coat adhesives, because of its cationic nature. And it can be used as an accelerator and coagulation aid in rubber processing. We may not know all the applications for PEI, but we probably know more about more of them than anybody else. We've even written a little book about PEI, which is yours for the asking. So's your spot on our Amine Logics mailing list.
