Introduces the production company which gives the audience an idea of what company produced the film. Depending on if it is a huge production company the audience would acknowledge that a lot of money has been spent on making this film successful

States who produced the film. If a famous producer who is well known in the industry produced a film then the audience would know that the film is worth watching

The soundtrack of Donnie Brasco

• The soundtrack which accompanies the opening sequence is quite nostalgic and classical• This sets the time of the film suggesting that this kind of music was

central in that era• The soundtrack is played along with the montage to help dwell on the

characters and background of the film

Title credit introduces the actor starring in the film. Al Pacino is a huge star in the film industry which already notifies the audience that this film may be worth watching

Grey scaled image which fits in with the whole montage theme. Close up of the eyes which are positioned looking down.

Title credit also introduces another famous actor. Johnny Depp is also a huge star in the industry and co starring along with Al Pacino the audience knows that this film will produce excitement

Once again a grey scale image of the eyes. Sets a mysterious tone

Title credit introduces the title of the film which we would expect to see in the opening sequence

The image of the eyes are now looking up which suggests that the opening sequence has suddenly come to life. Also the character has a determined look in his eyes which kind of sets the genre

Editing (Fade) is used to help give the montage more meaning and make it seem more interesting

This image sets the genre of the film depicting that it will be based around violence and explosions.

The fact that the image now has colour makes it more meaningful and truer to the genre

At this point the soundtrack stops and in the background we hear Al Pacino talking
