Because we need your help and 100% of event proceeds are beingdonated to these two great charitable organizations:

Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation is a national organization whose mission is to eliminate pediatric cancer and to provide hope and support to those who are touched by it. It is certified as one of the best charities in America by the Independent Charities of America organization.

Bear Necessities was founded in late 1992 by Kathleen A. Casey, President. The foundation is named in memory of her 8 year old son, Barrett “Bear” Krupa, who died after a courageous 5-1/2 year battle with Wilms Tumor, a pediatric cancer.

Visit www.bearnecessities.org for more information.

The St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Margaret Mary Parish is part of an international society of friends, united by a spirit of poverty, humility, and sharing nourished by prayer and fellow members. Energized by the awareness that service to their brothers and sisters in need is in fact an encounter with Christ, they are keenly aware that poverty, suffering and loneliness are present for a countless number of individuals in our community.

You do not have to be Catholic for them to serve you. They serve you because they are Catholic.

In the last eight years, the St. Margaret Mary Shamrock Shave, through the generous support of our shavee pledges, has raised over $300,000 for needy families in our community and those suffering from cancer. This year, the recipients of all event proceeds will be (2) extremely worthwhile charities that will fulfill our mission of helping the needy in our community and those suffering from cancer. They are:

WHY SHOULD I SPONSOR A SHAVEE?

Every pledge you take helps those suffering from cancer and poverty.Search your heart and your hairline...

Perhaps you have lost a loved one to cancer? Or you have a family member or friend suffering from this dreaded disease? Maybe you have asked yourself how you could help the needy in the community, and put your faith and gratitude for the blessings in your life into action? The Shamrock Shave may be your answer. We are looking for men and women of all ages, who have “hair to spare,” to participate in this year’s Shamrock Shave as a “Shavee.” Last year’s Shave raised over $28,000 and this year we need your help. If you are interested in having your head shaved to raise money for community families in need and those suffering from cancer, please sign up online or contact Jonna Burck at 847-809-6950 or via email at [email protected]. You also have an opportunity to raise funds for your own charity! Check the Parish web site for updates and pledge forms online at: saintmargaretmary.org/shave.

SHOULD I BE A SHAVEE?
