It’s the personal touch of Elizabeth Armstrong. It’s the talent of Sonya Hough. It’s Norma George’s perseverance.

These are the faces and names of three women that have contributed to St. Croix through their business sense, their love for community, and their commitment to quality. Today, we honor these three amazing women.

“Customers are our gold,” says Sonya. The care and spirit that Sonya, Ltd imbues into downtown Christiansted is known far and wide. This mother of five is responsible for creating the sought-after and famous Crucian Hook Bracelet and has been treating locals and tourists like the gold she crafts for over 47 years in her fine jewelry corner shop.

“We pledge to provide world-class service and to share our heritage, warmth and friendliness, ensuring that every visitor becomes an ambassador for St. Croix.” A mission statement for The Buccaneer best sums up the style and grace reflected in Elizabeth Armstrong’s business success in sharing St. Croix with the world.

“This establishment has become more than a business. Locals and tourists describe it as a home away from home.” Norma George is quite right— and she treats every person who visits her rainforest Mt. Pellier Hut Domino Club as if they were family.

Through the efforts of Sonya, Norma, and Elizabeth, St. Croix has become a rising star as a destination point for weddings, vacations, and acts as a second home to many. Treasure hunters from all over the world are finding the hidden gems that St. Croix has to offer. Today, from all of us at A Taste of St. Croix and the St. Croix Foundation say thank you for all that you do! And as Norma George says, “Keep smiling.”

A Taste of St. Croix came about as a way to celebrate the unique spirit and flavor of St. Croix by pooling culinary artisans from more than 50 local restaurants and eateries. The event, which was the brainchild of two local restaurateurs, highlights the diverse and delectable cuisine and culture of St. Croix with its influences from all over the Caribbean and the world. Simply put, A Taste of St. Croix is elegance, art, culture, laughter, and a spectacular good time.

For the Benefit of ST. CROIX FOUNDATION

As a nonpartisan, nonpolitical community foundation, the St. Croix Foundation provides leadership and acts as a catalyst in bringing together diverse groups to discuss problems and forge solutions. The Foundation is making an impact because we leverage funds raised from concerned citizens and encourage greater philanthropic activity through increasing public awareness of current and emerging needs in our community. We appreciate your support. Together we can make a difference!

Welcome to the 11th Anniversary
