In Support of St. Croix’s Hospitality Industry

WHEN A TASTE OF ST. CROIX began in 2001, the founders made a promise to the restaurateurs, caterers, vendors, and distributors of St. Croix that this is an event celebrating the food service industry. Since then Taste has lived up to its mission and vision as a celebration of the immense culinary talent on our island. As the years have passed, A Taste of St. Croix has also been a committed supporter of the hospitality industry through its partnership with the St. Croix Foundation.

In 2007, Taste held a rigorous competition among category winners to determine who would be the newest member of the VI Culinary Olympic Team. Chef Brian Wisbauer emerged the winner! This year, A Taste of St. Croix is strengthening its partnership with the USVI Hotel & Tourism Association by helping to sponsor the Team at A Taste of the

Caribbean as well as providing another member of the Team.

To ensure that St. Croix’s culinary future remains bright, A Taste of St. Croix and the St. Croix Foundation also funded a summer Food Service Training Program at the Career and Technical Education Center. At the end of the 3-week

course, 10 students graduated under the instruction of Anton Doos. Through this training,

Taste promotes the spirit of St. Croix’s dynamic restaurant industry.

We welcome you to the 8th Annual A Taste of St. Croix and thank you for your continued support. Together we can make a difference!

Above (front): Culinary Scholars Joshua, Carteesha, and Berniel receive certificates from Anton Doos (rear).

A TASTE OF ST. CROIX came about as a way to celebrate the unique spirit and flavor of St. Croix by pooling culinary artisans from more than 50 local restaurants and eateries. The event, which was the brainchild of two local restaurateurs, highlights the diverse and delectable cuisine and culture ofSt. Croix with its influences from all over the Caribbean and the world. Simply put, A Taste of St. Croix is elegance, art, culture, laughter, and a spectacular good time.

For the Benefit of ST. CROIX FOUNDATION

As a nonpartisan, nonpolitical community foundation, the St. Croix Foundation provides leadership and acts as a catalyst in bringing together diverse groups to discuss problems and forge solutions. The Foundation is making an impact because we leverage funds raised from concerned citizens and encourage greater philanthropic activity through increasing public awareness of current and emerging needs in our community. We appreciate your support. Together we can make a difference!

Welcome to the 8th Annual
