2nd & 3rd Year DOMT Students as Volunteer Staffsin the 1st Heal-om Festival in the Country
This year the DOMT.Cs
organized its 2nd year
celebration of the Software
Freedom Day (SFD). SFD is
an annual international
c e l e b r a t i o n
for Software
F r e e d o m .
Every year
there are
thousands of
teams orga-
nizing Soft-
ware Free-
dom Day in dif-
ferent countries
and cities. In
the Philippines,
there are about
twenty four (24)officially registered in the
wiki teamlist organizations
from Luzon, Visayas and
Mindanao regions.
The DOMT.Cs repre-
sented by Ms. Jomalyn V.
Tiletile as its SFD
Philippines Team Leader
organized the event here in
PUP-Quezon City campus.
SFD was celebrated
through series of discus-
sion and breakout sessions
with the following topics on
Ubuntu Operating System,
Web Browsing Using
Mozilla Firefox, FOSS Pro-
gramming Softwares,
Google Applications and
FOSS in Schools Today.
The speakers were Efren D.
Montales Jr. from Ubuntu
Philippines, Melchor Q.
Compendido from Mozilla
Phillippines, Gener Luis
Morada from Ascent
Network Solutions
Inc., Jefferson A.
Costales from Mary

of Pampanga & an

Roque S. Morales
from Institute of
Comparative and

Studies.
The 250 participantswere clustered into five
groups so they can
focus on each discus-
sion and questions were
accommodated and
addressed even better.
The event was also
sponsored by Mozilla Phil-
ippines, Quezon City Office,
Convergys and ICAS Phils.
Software Freedom Day 2012 on
its 2nd year in PUP Quezon City
It was fun and another
meaningful experience for the
OMT students when they
volunteered in an activity held
last October 14 at Whitespace,
Makati City. Heal-om Festival
is the first of its kind in the
country and was participated
by more than 100 organiza-
tions (private and public sector
as well as other non profit
organizations.
Different topics were dis-
cussed including alternative
medicine and process of
healing the mind, body and
soul. They were asked to help
ushering, assisting, maintain-
ing order and function as staff
to man the event.
The festival was lead by Ms.
Marina Monina M. Flores. The
event was also featured in
several radio stations, TFC
cable and ABS-CBN.

additional learning opportunities tostudents of Diploma in Office Manage-
ment Technology w/ specialization in
Medical Office Technology.
Within few months time, DOMT.Cs put
great effort in fulfilling the mission of
the organization. As a matter of fact

any search engine such as Google
and Mozilla

previous activities. Its not only you
who knows about the works of
DOMT.Cs but the world knows it! Not

Start of Something New
officers discussed the Vision, Mission
and Values of the organization, its
upcoming activities as well as solicited
some suggestions from the rest of the
students. Also, the organization shirt
was shown which will be used duringevents of the org.-
Last July 25, the Supreme Student
Council organized Freshmen Orienta-
tion for PUPQCs new students. Here,
the DOMT.Cs was introduced as the
official student organization for the
Diploma in Office Management Tech-
nology students. Officers lead by Ms.
Jomalyn V. Tiletile were presented to
the PUPQC community. The rest of the

The fruit of hard labor, that is what
best describes the Distinguished
Office Management Technologist andCorporate specialist (DOMT.Cs) had
become. DOMT students finally had
more flexibility to achieve their
dreams in a less worry feeling.
Thanks to PUPQC administration thru
the help of Prof. Irynne P. Gatchalian,
head of Student Affairs. The DOMT.Cs
is now officially recognized as one of
