1. Installation

1.1 DownloadSerDia2010 is downloadable from http://serdia.deutz.com/

At the moment Serdia2010-Download has a volume of 250Mbytes and thelicense-file is about 5Mbytes.

1.2 Requirements for SerDia2010

1.2.1 Personal Computer (PC)PC: >. 1,5GHz (quad core would be best), 2 GByte RAM,

about 1GByte free disk space,Screen min. 1024x768 pixel,one free USB-Port

OS: MS-Windows XP SP3, VISTA, Windows 7 (64bit or 32 bit) Admin-Rights during InstallationNew SerDia-Path: C:\Deutz\SerDia\.......Full access after installation for following directories

C:\DEUTZ\*.* ; C:\Programme\DEUTZ\*.* ; C:\Programme\samtec\*.* ;C:\Programme\Sontheim \*.* , C:\Programme\Java\*.* ;

1.2.2 InterfaceHS-light II or new DeCom (DEUTZ Communicator)Supplier for HS-Light is Company DEUTZSupplier for DeCom is Company DEUTZ(order via DEUTZ-SAP-Tool "DIWI"

1.2.3 Software & LicenseFor each Interface you will need a SerDia2010-License, which must be

purchased at Deutz. (Old SerDia2000 will work as usual with HS-Light.)

After install you will be able to start SerDia2010. Within 2 weeks you mustdownload a new license-file and put it into your installation. If you do not soSerDia2010 wont´t work any longer, after this period.

License-Files are not downwards-compatible.

1.2.4 Engine Application:For the beginning SerDia2010 will support only DEUTZ-TIER4-engines withECU-Type EMR4. Successive old Systems EMR3 and EMR2 will be

introduced.

2 Copy Exe-File on your Harddisk

2.1 execute File (unpacking)

Choose a place on your harddisk, where the installfiles can be copied to and click "extract"-button.

2.2 Start "setup.exe" to install SerDia2010

Please, do not plugin the interface yet.

You need ADMIN-Rights for installation.

Choose your favourite language for installation. (this is not the SerDia2010-Language!!)

Click "Install"-Button

Only visible on first SerDia2010 installation. Click OK and go on.

3 JAVA-Installation

SerDia2010 works with JAVA. Additionally a JAVA-Application must be installed. Click "Yes"Take care of Administrator-Hints!

To fix all registry entries, reboot your computer please.

Meanwhile you may see higher values of version-numbers.

4 How to check Interface connection

Right Mouseclick on "yellow"-Tray-Icon and click Menu "about"

4.1 How to activate the Interface

When your PC has got another SerDia2000-Installation, then you will have now twoConfiguration-Center for the HS.Light-Interface.

For SerDia2000 choose Configuration Center and for SerDia2010 choose SamPDUConfigurationCenter. Click Find VCI (Vehicle Communication Interface). If the interface is detected, then click Save-Button and Close the Window, please.

Start diagnosis software "SerDia2010"

Pages may vary from release to release

Connect your Interface to the EDC17-ECU and double-click on the Desktop-ICON.

Starting Page with connected ECU and well known ECU-Software

If ECU is shut off or ECU-Firmware is not implemented, the diagnosis software is not able tolog into the connected ECU. Nevertheless you are able to flash the ECU.

5 Uninstall

Sometimes it is necessary to clean the directory and delete the Serdia-Installation completelybefore a new Serdia-Installation is started. The following steps must be fulfilled.
