�The DoIT Service Desk �The�DoIT�Service�Desk�is�staffed�with�both�help�desk�analysts�and�trainers.��If�you�have�questions�pertaining�to�any�of�the�following:�printers,�connectivity�(cannot�connect�to�VTAM�screen),�or�application�problems�(ADPICS,�R*STARS,�INFOPAC,�FOCUS,�TESS,�and�WEBFLEET),�please�call�our�Service�Desk�phone�number,�410�260�7778.��LAN�(Local�Area�Network)�related�issues�should�be�addressed�at�the�individual�agency�level.��Security�issues�should�be�directed�to�the�individual�within�your�agency�who�is�responsible�for�internal�FMIS�security.��This�person�is�known�as�your�FMIS�Security�Coordinator.��If�you�do�not�know�your�FMIS�security�coordinator,�call�the�Service�Desk�for�assistance.����When�calling�the�DoIT�Service�Desk,�you�should�have�the�following�information�available:�(1)�your�first�and�last�name;�(2)�the�agency�from�where�you�are�calling;�(3)�the�document�ID�or�batch�on�which�you�are�working;�and�(4)�any�error�messages�associated�with�your�document�or�batch.��If�you�are�calling�about�a�printer�problem,�the�FMIS�printer�identification�is�necessary.��FMIS�printers�are�identified�by�two�methods:��(1)�the�remote�ID,�better�referred�to�as�RMTXXXX�(X’s�represent�the�numeric�number�assigned�to�the�printer),�and�(2)�the�device�ID,�which�usually�consists�of�both�numbers�and�letters.��The�Service�Desk’s�hours�of�operation�are�normally�from�7:00�AM�–�5:00�PM�Monday�through�Fridays.��During�peak�usage�our�operating�hours�may�change�to�Monday,�Tuesday�and�Thursdays�from�7:00�AM���6:00�PM.���Wednesday�and�Fridays�from�7:00�AM�–�5:00�PM.��Occasionally,�you�will�receive�voice�mail�due�to�a�high�volume�of�calls.��Please�leave�a�message,�and�someone�will�return�your�call.��When�leaving�a�voice�mail�message,�the�above�information�is�still�required,�but�don’t�forget�to�include�your�phone�number.���Once�a�call�is�logged�with�the�Service�Desk,�a�REMEDY�number�(or�ticket�number)�is�assigned�to�this�call.��REMEDY�is�the�tracking�system�used�to�record�and�monitor�incoming�calls�to�the�Service�Desk.��If�your�call�cannot�be�answered�quickly,�a�REMEDY�number�will�be�assigned�to�you.��This�ticket�number�should�be�written�down�and�referred�to�when�referencing�your�problem.����FMIS�system�hours�can�be�obtained�from�the�FMIS�Global�News�Screen.��If�there�are�any�changes�in�system�hours,�they�will�be�listed�on�this�screen.��Currently�the��

�system�is�in�operation�Monday���Saturday,�from�6:30�AM�–�6:30�PM.��On�Wednesday,�the�system�goes�down�at�4:00�PM�for�modifications.����It�is�suggested�that�all�FMIS�users�have�access�to�the�FMIS�Bulletin�Board�System�(BBS).��The�BBS�is�utilized�across�the�state�as�a�means�of�communication�for�the�users.���The�information�that�is�distributed�through�the�BBS�is�very�useful�to�the�FMIS�user.��Announcements�on�system�problems,�system�hour�changes,�batch�cycle�information,�user�group�meeting�announcements�and�minutes,�migrations�for�new�additions,�and�job�opportunities�are�readily�available�and�updated�on�a�daily�basis�on�the�BBS.��More�information�about�the�BBS�is�available�by�calling�the�Service�Desk.��Access�to�the�BBS�is�available�at:���http://www.dbm.state.md.us/bbs��Additional�information,�including�FMIS�documentation,�forms�etc.,�is�available�for�viewing�and�printing�at:��http://www.doit.maryland.gov����

�A�log�on�ID�must�be�established�through�the�Annapolis�Data�Center�(ADC)�in�order�to�access�the�FMIS�system.��Your�log�on�ID�will�be�established�by�your�agency�ACF2�Security�Officer.��Once�your�log�on�ID�has�been�established,�your�agency�ASM�Security�Officer�or�agency�ASM�Functional�Coordinator�will�complete�security�forms�requesting�appropriate�access�to�each�of�the�FMIS�applications�that�you�need�(R*STARS,�ADPICS,�TESS,�FOCUS).��All�security�forms�are�sent�to�DBM�for�processing.��User Identification (ID) and Password �The�User�Identification�(ID)�and�temporary�password�is�created�and�assigned�to�an�individual�by�your�agency�ACF2�Security�Officer.��The�user�ID�consists�of�six�to�eight�alphanumeric�characters�(i.e.,�A60M00).��Your�password�must�be�eight�characters�long,�alphanumeric,�not�the�same�as�the�log�on�ID,�with�no�more�than�two�(2)�consecutive�letters/numbers,�and�must�be�different�than�the�last�five�(5)�passwords.����Your�password�will�expire�every�45�days�and�after�60�days�of�non�use,�your�log�on�ID�will�be�suspended.�

���If�the�log�on�ID�and�password�do�not�match�in�three�attempts�to�log�onto�the�system�within�a�24�hour�period,�the�user’s�password�will�be�suspended.��In�order�to�have�a�password�reset,�the�user�must�contact�their�agency’s�Security�Officer,�who�has�the�authority�to�have�the�password�reset.��The�Service�Desk�only�can�reset�DBM’s�passwords.��It�does�not�have�the�security�to�reset�any�other�agency.��We�will�be�able�to�assist�you�in�case�you�do�not�know�your�security�coordinator.����
