MSc in Management Research• Students attend lectures, classes and tutorials for a total of three

terms

• Are introduced to key ideas in management research and research methodologies

• Choose one of two possible advanced research methods options

• Follow two electives in specialist subjects of their choice from the offerings provided

• Write a 15,000-word research dissertation using empirical or secondary data in a field of management research.

Learning• Support and guidance by academic and college advisors. From Hilary term onwards the academic advisor is also the supervisor of the research dissertation.

• Learning outcomes:

• Substantive knowledge of the key concepts within management and organisation theory

• Substantive knowledge  in up to two specialist areas

• Comprehensive knowledge of research skills and techniques • Ability to compare and contrast the relative merits of a range of theoretical and methodological perspectives

• Ability to identify a research question, write a proposal, investigate this using the appropriate tools and present the results in an academic format for peer review
