WHO ARE WE?Dogtor Foundation is a non-governmental organization thatworks in area of pet-assisted therapy. Dogtor Foundation isinvolved in dog therapy – a form of activity aimed at peoplewith physical and mental disabilities and those sufferingfrom other dysfunctions and illnesses. We and our dogs workmainly with disabled children (e.g. with autism, Downsyndrome, cerebral palsy etc.). We also provide specialisttraining for dogs and for people in regard to dog therapy, aswell as a dog obedience school, educational activities forchildren of different age groups, teaching the correct andsafe behavior with dogs and respect for animals. All theactivities take place in schools, kindergartens, homes forchildren, hospitals and other special institutions, as well asat the Dogtor Foundation’s headquarters in Gdynia

On the daily bases the volunteer takes part in the wholeorganization’s life including interaction with customers,assistance to the therapists during the workshops and thegroup sessions, work with documentation, preparation anddissemination of informational and promotional materials,participating in promotional activities, help in office andadministration tasks and other small everyday tasks. Depending on the abilities and interests of the Volunteer,his/her tasks may include taking and editing photos andvideos, preparing promotional and informational postersand flyers, as well as preparing creative aids supportingtherapeutic activities. Additional tasks of the volunteer will be to help withselection, training and examination of dogs for dog therapy.The final tasks of the volunteer are assigned together withthe project coordinator according to the volunteer'sinterests, abilities, and also current organization’s needs.
WHAT WE DO IN DOGTOR FUNDATION?
We especially welcome applicants with a friendly attitudetoward animals, who like working with children and disabledpeople, full of creativity, honesty, and openness. Greatcommunication skills are a must. S/he should be open for different and new people fromother countries and cultures, from different age groups andlike to co-operate and work in groups. On the whole, the volunteer should be interested, open-minded to contribute with one’s own creativity in the group’swork and willing to develop his/her personality.
