EVENT OVERVIEW

The Georgia Alliance of Interior Design Professionals (GAIDP) will be holding itsannual Peach Paws event on April 25, 2020. We will be bringing together teams ofdesigners, architects, manufactures, representatives, contractors, and buildingsupply services to competitively design "environments" for our beloved four-leggedfriends.

Teams will create a functional doghouse or kitty condo that stands apart from allthe rest! Local businesses, organizations and schools are invited to design,construct, and produce a customized doghouse or kitty condo that will beshowcased online and at the annual Peach Paws event.

Funds generated through the Peach Paws event will support GAIDP’s be used tofund our lobbyist which monitors legislation affecting Georgia’s interior designprofessionals. A portion of the proceeds will go to a local animal rescue group,emotional support dog training facility or no kill shelter.

ENTRY RULES

DOG HOUSES

1. Doghouses may be designed for dogs of any size. We have a limited numberof submission in each size category. Sizes will be assigned on a first come firstserve basis.

2. Doghouses must have a floor, 3 walls minimum, a roof and must bewaterproof. (Please account for the roof, overhangs, eaves of porch, chimneysor other decorative items.)

3. Doghouses should be built for outdoor use with materials that are safe fordogs.

4. No real fur or materials derived from animals are permitted.5. Dog items, such as food bowls, and play toys may be included as part of the

design.6. Roofing – Please try to use roofing materials that will withstand outdoor

elements;7. Exposed Dangers – Please pay special attention to exposed corners, sharp

edges and unfinished materials. Also, please fasten any decorative itemssecurely;

8. Maintenance – Your doghouse will be on display and may experience somewear and tear from the public getting a closer look as well as duringtransportation. Paint touch ups are each team’s responsibility during theevent.

9. All materials for each doghouse entry shall be paid for by each respectiveentry team or their sponsor.

10. Teams are responsible for transporting the doghouse to the venue.11. Doghouses must be put in place at the venue without the use of mechanical

lifts.12. Please keep the houses as lightweight as possible while maintaining a quality

appearance. This is equally important when the doghouses are delivered tothe winning homes, as most yards are not accessible to trucks or forklifts.

Auction winners are responsible for transporting the doghouse on the day of theevent. Most will be transported by sedan, SUV or truck. Please keep this in mind.

KITTY CONDOS

1. Kitty condos may be designed for cats of any size.2. Kitty condos must have a floor, 2 levels minimum, perch and must be

scratchable.3. Kitty condos should be built for indoor use with materials that are safe for

cats.4. No real fur or materials derived from animals are permitted.5. Cat items, such as play toys, and catnip may be included as part of the design.6. Exposed Dangers – Please pay special attention to exposed corners, sharp

edges and unfinished materials.7. Please fasten any decorative items securely.8. All materials for each entry shall be paid for by each respective entry team or

sponsor.9. Kitty condos must be put in place at the venue. Please keep the units as

lightweight as possible while maintaining a quality appearance.10. Suggested Criteria/Features to Consider:

ENTRY SUBMISSION

Team entry submissions will be accepted in accordance with the followingguidelines:

1. The deadline for entry is February 28, 2020 at 5:00 pm.2. All team entries must include the application, entry fee, design concept and a

minimum of three (3) concept sketches.3. Team entries will be submitted via email to [email protected]. Entries will be accepted, reviewed and approved on a first come first serve

basis.5. Entries will be time and date stamped.6. Submitting by the deadline does not guarantee participation in the

competition.7. Teams will be notified within 48 hours after the deadline to confirm whether

their entry has been accepted.8. Entry applications will be accepted after review to assure they meet the

required guidelines.9. When a category has been filled there will be no additional entries accepted

for that category.10. Teams will be notified if their entry category has been filled and given another

category option.11. Kitty condos may be cat trees, cat houses, cat perches or cat beds.12. All entries must be designed and built to be easily transported in a sedan, SUV

or truck.13. All entries must be delivered to the event venue on April 17, 2020 between

3:00 and 5:00 pm.14. Should an entry (dog house or kitty condo) not be purchased during the silent

auction, the team must remove the entry from the venue at the end of theevent.

15. Children are welcomed at the event and showroom. We kindly ask that allattendees be mindful of their children while on the property.

TEAM SPONSORSHIP

Team sponsorships will be accepted in accordance with the following guidelines:

1. Each team will select a team name. Design firm names, company names andschool names can be used as the team name.

2. Each team shall have a maximum of five (5) team members and up to three (3)A&D representative and/or contractors.

3. Team sponsors will be responsible for paying the team entry fee of $750 perteam ($250 per sponsor).

4. Each team will be responsible for securing materials, the building anddelivering of their entry.

5. Teams are to upcycle industry materials and samples when possible.6. Each team will receive five (5) tickets plus one (1) ticket per sponsor.7. Each team is allowed no more than three (3) sponsors. Of those three (3)

sponsors and if using a multi-line rep or furniture dealer, teams must chooseone product line to use. If a team chooses to only have one or two sponsors,the difference in the entry fee must be covered by the team or sponsors. Eachsponsor is required to pay a minimum of $250 towards the entry fee.

8. Entry fees must be paid within three (3) days of entry acceptance.9. We accept all major credit cards, PayPal, and company checks for entry fees.

I/we agree that no advertisement or other material need be submitted for approvaland GAIDP shall be without liability for any distortion or illusionary effect resultingfrom the publication, portrait or likeness. All prints, digital images, or negativessubmitted to GAIDP shall become the property of GAIDP and they may copyrightthem in their own name.

I/we hereby release and agree to indemnify GAIDP and their respective successorsand assigns, from and against any and all liability arising out of the exercise of therights granted by the above release.

Further, I/we hereby indemnify and hold GAIDP harmless from any claims arisingfrom the display of our entry. Any dispute arising out of this agreement is subject tomediation through a mutually agreed upon neutral mediation provider.
