TIle extent to whk:h azatadine, a new histanune antagonist. alters performance was measured in 15 healthy Volunteers. They were randomly given I mg azatadine, 2mg azatadine or placebo bid for 3 days. No significant side effects were seen with drug or placebo in performance tests, which included the critical flicker frequency test, the pursuit rotor test, single and mulliple reaction times as well as audio and visual reaction urnes. No change in sedation, cOncentration, mood, appetite or nausea were seen and there was no marked anticholinergic activity at either dosage level.
