How long do I have to complete the certification?• You have two years from the date you are notified that your position is

part of the certification program or two years from the date you enter a position to achieve the certification requirements.

What happens if I can’t complete the certification because of deployment, mission requirements, or personal reasons?• Each Component is granted waiver authority to assist with these

developments. Does my past training and experience count?

• All relevant DoD FM experience and training may count toward your certification requirements. Please work with your supervisor to capture this information.

Who will determine if my FM experience outside of DoD can transfer?• Your Component will determine if the prior experience meets the

requirements of the DoD FM Certification program.
