• Most people watch television between 9pm and 10pm, so to get the highest rate of viewers possible we would ‘air’ our documentary at about 9pm until 9.30pm. With other data gathered we discovered that channel 4 was the preferred channel, so we can use the information to make sure we ‘air’ our documentary on channel 4 at 9pm.

A small percentage chose to buy from a bakery. We can ask people to elaborate on their answers and tell use why they would prefer to bake their own cakes or buy from a bakery as oppose to a supermarket.Bakery Supermarket Homemade

• Most people own baking books out of the 20 people we asked. When asking this question we then asked if they knew who the author was and we gathered answers such as, Nigella Lawson, Jamie Oliver and Mary Berry. We can use this information in our documentary as we can find archive footage of these famous bakers/chefs creating cakes as we have a narration over the top, this will act as evidence to support our points.

• Most people we asked would give a cake to someone as a gift. This is then backed up with most people saying they would eat cake on someone's birthday, so cake is an appropriate gift for someone's birthday. We could ask someone why they think it is a good gift, and if they were to give it as a present would it be homemade or store bought.Yes No

• Judging by my results most people eat cake on birthdays, this is unsurprising as it is a stereotypical birthday treat. We can use this information in our documentary to possibly recreate a birthday cake scene (Candles etc).Birthdays Christmas Halloween Easter

• Judging by the results gathered most people would prefer the documentary to be voiced over by a female. Many of the answers we received voting female were because most people believed women were more associated with baking than men. Female bakers are more general stereotype. We think by looking at this data we will use a female voiceover as most people think it will be appropriate for the topic. However to contrast to the stereotype we should consider a male voiceover.Male Female No preference

• Brands do not tend to influences a persons decision when buying cakes. This may be because people view cakes as being all the same, although there was a higher percentage of people who we asked who tended to bake their own cakes. This means it does not matter what brands we choose to show in our documentary.

• Judging by our results people would prefer to spend £5.01+ when purchasing a cake. Maybe this is because they expect a higher priced cake to be better quality than a cheaper one. So if we were to use this question in a documentary we could get people to elaborate why they would spend their chosen price on a cake.1p - £1 £1.01 - £2 £2.01 - £3 £3.01 - £4 £4.01 - £5 £5.01+
