********************************************TRANSFER SCHOLARSHIP BROCHURE

1988-89 ACADEMIC YEAR********************************************

This summary, prepared on behalf of the Emphasis on Excellence(Honors) Program, is based on information received from collegesand universities as of October 2, 1987 (Revision G). Directinquiries, corrections and updates to Dr. George Emerson, HonorsProgram Director, M-DCC South Campus, 11011 S.W. 104 Street,Miami, FL 33176 (305-347-2889).

It is strongly suggested that both admission and financial aidapplications to transfer institutions be submitted by January ofthe academic year PRIOR to the Fall or Winter term of the yearyou plan to transfer. So, if you wish to enroll in the August1988 or January 1989 term, you should submit your application nolater than January 1988. Financial aid applications aresometimes available from universities and your campus FinancialAid office as early as December. You will need to obtainadmission applications before that and apply for admissionbecause you must be admitted to the transfer university towhich you are applying before your application for financialaid can be considered by the university.

Be aware that colleges and universities have early prioritydeadlines when applying for financial aid. Applications forfinancial aid received after priority deadlines are processed ona "first-come, first-served" basis. Most priority deadlines holdtrue whether the s'cudent enrolls for the semester that starts inAugust or January of the next academic year.
