INTRODUCTION

Early in 1969, the Sacramento State College Library begana series of bibliographies designed to aid our patrons tomake more effective use of the existing resources of theLibrary. This publication is Number 7 of that series. A

number of publications in the series have been directedspecifically to areas involved in the College's developingEthnic Studies programs. Previous publications have con-cerned themselves with Chicano, Black, and Asian materials;this is the first publication in the series concerned withNative American materials. It has been compiled by Mts.Elgie M. Fuson, Curriculum Librarian, to be of assistanceto teachers in helping their young students to know theAmerican Indian.

As usual, the Library staff will be most interested incomments and suggestions from users of this publication.
