3 ScopeNavigator Online NOL will only use the Content Management Application (CMA) to capture and store content. The rendering of the content to the screen will continue to be controlled by the NOL application.

A new tab has been added to the NOL application and will only be available to users with access to the AVAS user groups:

BL – Super Content Manager BK – Content Manager User

Selecting the Tab will present the user with the Content Manager Console screen.

The CM console screen will:

Provide an entry point to the Content Manager Application (CMA). Give the user the a means to preview content captured in the CMA Provide online user documentation. And for Super Content Manager Users the console will provided a link that can be used to

update the Navigation to reflect changes made to Navigation in the CMA.

For this, the first implementation of the CMA, only the navigation and content under the Home and Marketing tabs will be captured into the CMA. This will include left navigation and content for Gemini Mentoring, Marketing Assistants, Alliances, Partner Transfer and Sponsored Outbrokerage.

4 Navigator Page Layout

For the initial implementation of Content Management into NOL the standard layout for a web page will be as shown in figure 1 below.

Figure 1

All the grayed areas in figure 1 will be maintained in the Content Management Application (CMA). All the non gray areas will remain the same as they are in the current NOL with the exception of the various Left Menus (see Figure 2). All the navigation will be captured using the CMA and this will include left navigation.

4.1 NavigationNOL navigation will be captured using the CMA. In the CMA the navigation is referred to as the Site Tree and the navigation targets as Channels. The structure of the Site Tree is presented, in the CMA, very much the same as it is in NOL as can be seen in figure 3 below.

Figure 3

(See the separate document on how to add, modify and delete new Channels using the CMA.)

Figure 3.1 – Navigator Navigation

In addition to the major Channels and their sub Channels, Channels will be also added for the left navigation. In the CMA example Site Tree (figure 4 below) the left navigation is Gemini Mentoring, Alliances and Sponsored Outbrokerage.

Figure 4

All pages that are created in the CMA need to have an associated Channel on the Site Tree. As some of the pages within NOL will be linked to from another NOL page and not from the Site Tree an additional Channel has been added to the Site Tree. This Channel will be named Miscellaneous Pages and will have Sub Channels that can be used to organize the Pages (see figure 5). This Channel (Miscellaneous Pages) will not appear in any navigation tree on the screen.

4.2 Legal Statement (Common)There can be more than one Legal Statement on an NOL page. The Legal Statement referred to on the Page Layout (figure 1) is the common Legal Statement that is on all pages in NOL.

This will be captured using the CMA using the Legal Statement content type (figure 6). For NOL we only use Legal Statement types of Footnote, Tier 0, Tier 1 and Tier 2. This, the common Legal Statement, will always have a ‘Type’ of Footnote. Legal Statements with a Type other than Footnote (Tier 0, Tier 1 and Tier 2) will be used in the Content part of the Page Layout.

4.3 ContentThe Content is where the majority of the content captured in the CMA will be displayed. For this implementation of Content Management into NOL four Content Layout templates have been prepared. There are two for Sponsored Outbrokerage and two for the rest of the NOL application (Common).

The four layout templates are:

Common – Article

Within the templates where the Article or Related Links are used there are various Style Types that can be used. For this, the first CMA implementation, there are 7 layouts for Related Links (common layout), 7 layouts for Related Links (Sponsored Outbrokerage layout) and 5 Simple Article layouts. Details of these Styles can be found in separate online documents called:

Related Link Boxes Common Styles: Related Link Boxes Common Styles.pptx Related Link Boxes Outbrokerage Styles: Related Link Boxes Outbrokerage Styles.pptx Simple Article Styles: Simple Articles - Styles.pptx

5 Page Creation Flow

In order to create a new page in the CMA the Content Manger will begin by capturing the various Content Types. For NOL the Content Types that are available are:

File - The file content type is used to capture various files to the CMA. Files can include Images, Word documents, PDF documents, PowerPoint’s and Excel documents.

Call to Action – Is used to create ‘linked’ text. The linked (or hypertext) text can be then linked to an external web site, another CMA page or File Content.

Related Link Box – This is used to create a collection of related Call to Actions. Legal Statements – This is a Legal Statement. Embedded Html – This is a snippet of html that will be displayed on the screen. Floater Text – Currently not used. Redirect URL – Currently not used.

Some of the Content Types will require other Content Types as input. For, an example, in order to capture the content for a Related Link Box the content Manger will start by capturing File content. The File content will then be included in a Call to Action content type. The Related Link Box is then developed by adding all the related Call to Action’s.

Once the Content Types have been captures the Content Manager will then develop a new page using the captured Content Types.
