ME! The 2010 series of Doctor Who may have finished but, in the words of Ood Sigma, the story never ends...the next Christmas Special is on the way! It’s been dubbed as ‘the most Christmassy Christmas special yet’ and stars: Michael Gambon, best known as Dumbledore in the Harry Potter films, has been both confirmed by a BBC press re-lease and spotted on location filming. Katherine Jenkins is a singer who will be appearing possi-bly as an extra companion to the Doctor, Amy and Rory. Danny Horn hasn’t been confirmed, yet it is expected that he is in it. The following have not been confirmed, merely speculated on o the Internet Movie DataBase (IMDB): Matthew Waterhouse, as Adric's ghost. Alex Kingston and John Simm as River Song and the Master. And Nick Briggs, Doctor Who voice veteran, playing the voice of the 'Cyber-Daleks'. Eh?

The Christmas Special: Lost? Recently, in his column for Doctor Who Magazine Produc-tion Notes, Steven Moffat said that he had lost the Christ-mas Special script and had to write it again in a few weeks! Or, rather, that was Matt Smith's cover for his absence. So, as the Daily Mail happily told Doctor Who fans, was this the end? No, it wasn’t. As I said, this was a joke intended to cover up (deliberately rubbishly) the fact that he hadn’t finished it yet. I think it’s best put by the man himself. Over to you, Steven? ‘I ask you, how in this age of having several back-up cop-ies and sending off each script to the entire cast before its finished every hour do you lose a script? This issue, I’ve asked editor Tom to asterisk (*) any jokes I may make.*’ However, you can bet the Mail doesn’t report on this defi-nite fact.

THE PROMS ARE A SUCCESS The second Doctor Who Proms (in two parts) was sold out extremely quickly, it featured lots of creatures and aliens from the show. Matt Smith also put in an appearance, helping a boy named Ellis save the world. The Prom was hosted by Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill on the24th and 25th July.

THE ULTIMATE MASCOT - DALEK INVADES THE

WORLD CUP A fan has repainted his Dalek in traditional Eng-lish colours to scare off the Germans.

Last time the World Cup was on, four years ago in 2006, the Daleks and Cybermen ap-peared together in the Doctor Who season finale, and since Radio Times couldn’t decide which to feature on a cover they used both. This year... Chris Balcombe’s fan-built Seventies-style Dalek has been repainted red and white for Eng-land v Germany. And itsead of a plunger...what plunger-shaped South African device do we know of that is now associated with the World Cup?

DALEK AT EWELL VILLAGE FAIR

A Dalek of another sort was spotted re-cently at a village fair...for some reason the prop trundled in at Ewell Castle School. These two girls are the only survi-vors; here they are fearlessly -err- pulling the poor thing’s plunger off.

DALEK SPOTTINGS LATEST

So Doctor Whoniverse is told, there were also two Daleks and a Sec drunk outside a Worthing pub a few days ago! They were a Renegade and an Imperial, who fought in Remembrance of the Daleks, so this sight would be quite unlikely if they weren’t drunk.

Meets the Doctor for the first time. (Time Unknown)

Has an adventure with the Doctor at the Bone Meadows. (mentioned The Time

of Angels, Time Unknown)

Has a picnic with the Doctor at Asgard. (mentioned Silence in the Library,

Time Unknown)

Travels to the End of the Universe with the Doctor. It is possible that this was

in reference to the events surrounding the Pandorica. (mentioned Forest of the

Dead, Time Unknown)

Gets her Doctorate.

Kills "a hero to many", "the best man [she's] ever known" and is imprisoned in

or before the 51st century.

Escapes from her Stormcage in the 52nd Century. Obtains a Vortex manipula-

tor, and writes the oldest written message in history on a cliff face of Planet

One. The message, of course found by the Eleventh Doctor, reads Hello

Sweetie, Theta Sigma (the Doctor's nickname) and coordinates for Britain in

102 AD. River then meets the Doctor in 102 AD when the Pandorica opens.

Is trapped in a time loop in the TARDIS as it explodes.

River is rescued from the TARDIS and brought back to 1996, where she merci-

lessly kills the Stone Dalek, who shot the Doctor.

After the Doctor restores the universe to life (erasing himself in the process),

River leaves her (now blank) diary with Amy Pond on her wedding day in 2010

to trigger her memories of the Doctor, thus reviving him. Afterwards, the Doc-

tor returns it to her and it is filled again, but he says he didn't peek ahead. Parts ways with the Doctor, apologising for an event in the future, and reply-

ing "Yes" to a question that can be interpreted as either "Will you marry me?" or "Are you married?" before teleporting off with the vortex manipula-tor. Before she leaves she tells the Doctor he will see her again very soon and that he will finally know who she is then, and apologizes as that's when eve-rything will change. (This could be a reference to Torchwood.)

Much bigger than its predessesor, and less like a pen, this looks like it does something. Which is good, because it does: At first glance it appears to be a se-lection of bits and bobs, not unlike the TARDIS itself, yet everything has a pur-pose. Four claws illustrate the end, which flip open on 'outstretched' mode (accessable from the long thin button on the handle). It's a nice addition, and they cleverly house the green light at the end. The green tubing runs right through the toy, as you can see if you outsretch it. There's two buttons, one on the black handle section [A], and one at the end [B] (so now you can follow David Tennant's original intruiging manner of handling the device before the prop gainded buttons!) which is generally hidden by a small gold cap, which blends ito the rest of the toy. The button [A] only activates in 'closed' mode, al-though the small switch that it pushes is viewable among the green tubing. The only thing it looses is that it looks less like a screwdriver than the Tennant model, but that's by no means a bad thing! The Eleventh Doctor's ver-sion of the Who classic is more visually attractive than its predecessor, and has more functionality too (though it still won't open doors!) On 10/04/2010, FP was of-fering the toy cheaper, but Dr Who Gear had it about a week ago - I was unaware of FP's price, and ordered from Dr Who Gear - recieved it on 09/04/2010. FP and one of the biggest Tesco stores in the country were awaiting stock on the 14th so where DWG got it from I don't know! Doctor Whoniverse rating: 4/5
