I need my electricity supply disconnected
2 Excavating in the highway We always have to dig in the footpath or road to disconnect an underground supply. The council may charge us to close the footpath or road which can delay work.
Price on average £500 but in rare circumstances could be as high as £10,000
Time: up to three months to obtain permits (dependent on local authority)
3 Parking. Do you have a parking space we can use to get close to the power cable? If not there may be an extra charge from the local council to enable us to park.
Price from £30 to £300 per parking bay (dependent on local authority)
1 You will need to have your electricity meter removed, UK Power Networks will contact your supplier to arrange this.
4 Once the disconnection is complete, we will issue you with a Disconnection Certificate and update the national database.

QuotationAfter we have received your application, your dedicated coordinator will provide you with a formal quotation* that will be valid for 90 days, after which time your quote will expire.
*subject to site survey.
PaymentOnce you have received the quote and are happy to proceed with the disconnection, you can agree to the works by making payment in full to UK Power Networks. Details of how to make payment can be found on your quotation.
Notifying your supplierWe will notify your supplier on your behalf and give statutory notice to allow removal of their equipment.
Scheduling worksYour co-ordinator will try and schedule the works to meet your desired dates. This is not always possible as the local authority has to agree to our requested dates, co-ordinating any potential conflicts with other planned utility works.
Works on siteIt is your responsibility to ensure that there are no obstacles that may delay works from being carried out on the agreed date. For example, your supplier should have removed the meter prior to works starting, the disconnection area should be clear from stored items or scaffolding.Either you or a nominated site contact must be available on the day to ensure we have access to our equipment inside the property.
