Example of Anna in Luke 2:36-38
What does it say about the value we place on worship when we are late or unprepared?
Are we teaching our children that worship is valuable?
What does it say about the value we place on worship if we can only “force” ourselves to come on Sunday mornings or special occasions?
Does God Care How I Worship?
Nadab and Abihu offer profane fire (Lev. 10) Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians
Paul rebuked the Corinthians Sexual immorality Don’t sue your brother Marriage Idolatry Covering Lord’s Supper Spiritual Gifts
Does God Care How I Worship?
Did Paul just enjoy rebuking them?
2Co 2:4 For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote to you, with many tears, not that you should be grieved, but that you might know the love which I have so abundantly for you.

What did you put in? Is Worship for us or for God?
Worship has become a matter of entertaining people to get them to enter and stay.
Is Worship Giving or Receiving
1st Commandment is to love the Lord with all of our heart, soul and mind
2nd Commandment is to love our neighbor as ourselves
There is no other commandment greater than these.
Do I Value My Neighbor?Mark 12:28-34
Paul agonized over the Corinthians reaction to his first letter
2Co 2:4 For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote to you, with many tears, not that you should be grieved, but that you might know the love which I have so abundantly for you.
Do I Value My Neighbor?
While Paul waited to hear their reaction to his first letter, he had no rest in his spirit. 2Co 2:12-13 Furthermore, when I came to
Troas to preach Christ's gospel, and a door was opened to me by the Lord, I had no rest in my spirit, because I did not find Titus my brother; but taking my leave of them, I departed for Macedonia.
Do I Value My Neighbor?
Forgive (2 Corinthians 2:6-8) This punishment which was inflicted by the
majority is sufficient for such a man, so that, on the contrary, you ought rather
to forgive and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one be swallowed up with too much sorrow.
Therefore I urge you to reaffirm your love to him.
Do I Value My Neighbor?
Paul did when he Rebuked them even though it was hard.
Worried about their reaction to the point he couldn’t take advantage of an open door.
Forgave them.
Do I Value My Neighbor?
Psalms 27:4 One [thing] I have desired of the LORD, That
will I seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the LORD All the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the LORD, And to inquire in His temple.
For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel's will save it.
For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?
Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
Do I Value My Soul?Mark 8:35-ff
