    1 SCOPE

    This document decribes the BSC impacts due to RFD 204522 for LAPDm T200 values changeable from OMC.

    1.1 Document Structure

    Section 2 introduces the changeable LAPDm T200 feature.

    2 FEATURE DESCRIPTION

    2.1 Modifification of T200 in the OMC-R Introduction

    As requested by CMCC, the timer used for L2 MS-BTS acknowledgements (T200) can be drastically increased. Before this, this value is hardcoded in the BTS parameters file. Now the operator can modify it from OMC on a cell basis.

    In fact there are two parameters which are referred to: T200_TF, and T200_TH (respectively for Full rate and Half rate).

    BSC receives the values from OMC, stores them in DLS and sends them to BTS.

    Note: G2 BTS does not support this value.

    4.1 Telecom/GPRS Software Impacts

    4.2.1 Impact on HSK_5

    In the parameter group Cell-Timers-Type, 2 timers are added: t200tf and t200th. HSK_5 needs to store them in DLS and trigger to send the parameter to BTS.

    4.2.1.1 New/Modified DLS Parameter Name/Location T200_TF R_CELL_EIN.D_T200_TF Purpose This is the timer used in BTS for LAPDm to supervise the

    acknowledgements for FACCH (TCH FR associated) SAPI 0.

    Name/Location T200_TH R_CELL_EIN.D_T200_TH Purpose This is the timer used in BTS for LAPDm to supervise the

    acknowledgements for FACCH (TCH HR associated) SAPI 0.

    4.2.1.2 New/Modified Message

    No.

    4.2.1.3 New Actions in BSC

    When HSK_5 receives the LPM command for Cell-Timers-Type, if t200tf or t200th is present, it will store them in R_CELL_EIN.D_T200_TF or R_CELL_EIN.D_T200_TH respectively, and trigger to send CDM1. If this cell is splitted on 2 BTSs, CDM1 should be sent to both BTSs.

    When HSK_5 receives the LPD command for Cell-Timers-Type, it will read from R_CELL_EIN.D_T200_TF and R_CELL_EIN.D_T200_TH for parameter t200tf and t200th.

    4.3 FM software Impacts

    4.3.1 Impact on ME_BTS_TCU

    4.3.1.2 New/Modified Message

    CDM1 is modified to include new parameters: t200TF and t200TH.

    4.3.1.3 New Actions in BSC

    When constructing CDM1, new parameters t200TF and t200TH should be included if BTS is Evolium BTS. These 2 parameters are got from R_CELL_EIN.D_T200_TF and R_CELL_EIN.D_T200_TH respectively.

    4.3.2 Impact on ASN_ABIS

    4.3.2.1 New/Modified DLS Parameter

    No impact.

    4.3.2.2 New/Modified Message

    No impact.

    4.3.2.3 New Actions in BSC

    When encoding CDM1, new parameters t200TF and t200TH should be included if BTS is Evolium BTS.

    4.4 BSC Terminal Impacts

    The BSC terminal lab version must provide the way to display and modify the new parameters: t200TF and t200TH.

    In the Display Mixed Bag Type report, new fields are included to display t200TF and t200TH.

    In the Display Cell Timers report, new fields are included to display t200TF and t200TH.

    In the Modify Cell Timers command, new fields are included for setting the values of t200TF and t200TH.

    The minimum and maximum values of t200TF is 10 and 50, the default value is 10.

    The minimum and maximum values of t200TH is 11 and 50, the default value is 11.

    BSC Terminal must check the value given by operator is in the permitted range.

    4.5 POLO and OEF Impacts

    POLO should populate R_CELL_EIN. D_T200_TF and R_CELL_EIN. D_T200_TH. It needs to check they are in the range 10...50 and 11..50 respectively.
