Successfully integrating the DLH and Danya organizations remains a top strategic priority for our business. During phase one of integration, the planning team developed a framework around a handful of fundamental areas; they then provided this framework to all staff as a means of establishing clear lines of communication and transparency. The same team developed an operating model that spells out the manner in which we will structure and operate our business to achieve the vision and mission embedded in our integration planning framework.
Now, as we continue to progress through phase two of integration, the execution team is busy planning and engaging others in the organization to identify and prioritize those integration initiatives that should command our full and immediate attention. The common denominator across all of these priority initiatives is that they each have the potential to improve our operating efficiencies, lower our costs, increase our service responsiveness and simplify how our business gets done. They also are diverse and touch many different aspects of our business, including: • Information technology (IT) infrastructure• Policies and procedures• Learning, training and development programs• Organization structure• Shared services
• Branding• Benefits design• Consolidated accounting system• Cost savings from integration synergies
Our company already is benefiting from numerous integration actions that already have taken plan. So far in DLH 3.0, we have successfully:• Insourced services• Designed the operating model• Enhanced business processes• Streamlined financial
processes• Reduced waste and lowered
costs• Improved technology
infrastructure• Invested in training and
development• Pursued IT opportunities• Amplified the top importance
of our work values At this stage, we have developed our work plans and we are now executing detailed tasks and activities for each of our key integration priorities. We remain committed to continuing to provide you routine updates about our progress and successes moving forward.

2016 DLH #NextGenerationPM ConferenceThe 2016 DLH #NextGenerationPM conference took place September 8-10 at the 3,500-acre Chateau Elan Winery and Resort, located in the beautiful north Georgia foothills. The conference’s focus was
program management. Facilitators and speakers highlighted Lean Six Sigma and SPOT-m training as well as task order financial and recruiting reporting and development.
Associates from across the company met to network and discuss best practices for a broad cross-representation of job functions. The conference kicked off with team building events including a golf tournament and a gourmet cooking challenge, and concluded with roundtable sessions with the chair of our board of directors and the executive leadership team.
Overall, everyone had a great time and left energized with new ideas to take back to their teams for use throughout DLH.

2016-17 Windows of Service:
DLH is committed to demonstrating our company values in everything that we do. We endeavor constantly to attain the highest levels of responsible citizenship as an industry leader in the federal health and human services market. Acting on this pledge is essential to business growth and sustainability, and to maintaining the respect of our stakeholders nationally.
As a responsible corporate citizen, we contribute actively to advancing the quality of life in the communities where we live and work through our giving program DLH Cares. We currently support active-duty military; veterans and their families; underserved children, families and their communities; and at-risk populations served through DLH disease prevention work.
We plan to hold several windows of service throughout 2016-17 to highlight the populations DLH serves through our work and allow our employees to engage in different activities throughout the year. The primary goals for DLH Cares during this initial year of integration are Awareness, Engagement and Impact.
Awareness: We will ensure that all staff members who work across projects and who live all across the country are aware of opportunities to participate in any DLH site- or project-sponsored volunteer events that benefit our target populations (veterans and service members; underserved children, families and their communities; and at-risk populations served through DLH disease prevention work).
We will communicate these opportunities through regular e-blasts and website/calendar updates. We ask that our program/project managers ensure all staff is aware of opportunities to give back and also that staff is encouraged to send us ideas for new events or opportunities they believe might be of interest to DLH.
Engagement: Through these regular communications and with your encouragement, we will engage our staff by giving them opportunities to give back. In addition, we hope that this also will encourage staff to interact across projects and get to know their colleagues.
Impact: Ultimately, the goal is to make a positive impact on the target populations we serve through DLH Cares while also making a positive impact on our employees and their working relationships with each other.
