Day 1: Thursday- November 2, 2017

Overnight FlightYour adventure begins with an overnight flight to Italy. Journey through southern Italy and experience its rich scenery, art, culture, food and wine! Witness the breathtaking scenery of the Amalfi Coast, discover the ruins of Pompeii, and explore the most well-preserved Greek temples outside of Greece while in Paestum.

Day 2: Friday- November 3, 2017

Rome, Italy - Tour Begins

Your tour opens in Rome, the “Eternal City,” with thousands of years of history and world-renowned for its art, architecture and culture. This evening, join your fellow travelers for a welcome dinner featuring local delicacies and wines. (D)

Day 3: Saturday-November 4, 2017

Rome

This morning you may wish to participate in an optional tour to the magnificent treasures of the Vatican Museums and St. Peter's Basilica. Later, we set out on a panoramic tour of Classical Rome featuring the Piazza Venezia, the Roman Forum, the Circus Maximus, and the Arch of Constantine, followed by an in-depth guided visit of the spectacular Colosseum. Contemporary Rome is highlighted through the legendary Piazza Navona. (B)

Day 4: Sunday- November 5, 2017

Rome – Montecassino – Amalfi Coast

Depart Rome and journey to the Amalfi Coast. En route, ease your way into the local culture as your Tour Manager teaches you a few key phrases of the native language. Make a stop at the Benedictine monastery of Montecassino, perched on a mountaintop south of Rome. You’ll discover its rich history while exploring the monastery’s ornate chapel, peaceful courtyards, and fascinating museum. (B, D)

Day 5: Monday – November 6, 2017

Amalfi Coast - Sorrento - Amalfi - Minori - Amalfi Coast

Begin your day exploring the popular and charming seaside resort town of Sorrento. This afternoon, travel to the delightful town of Amalfi where you have time to explore. Next, continue to Minori where you will have the opportunity to sample some of the local specialties at a family-owned limoncello factory. You’ll also enjoy a typical Italian afternoon break at a local café and pastry shop. Your evening is at leisure. (B)

Day 6: Tuesday- November 7, 2017

Amalfi Coast - Paestum - Amalfi Coast

After breakfast, discover one of Italy’s most surprising products during a tour of a local buffalo milk mozzarella factory! Your day continues with a visit to Paestum where a local guide will escort you through some of the best-preserved Greek temples outside of Greece. End your day with dinner at a popular local restaurant. (B, D)

Day 7: Wednesday-November 8, 2017

Amalfi Coast

Enjoy a day at leisure to take in the beautiful scenery of the Amalfi Coast. You may wish to sign up for an optional boat trip (weather permitting) to the wonderful Mediterranean island of Capri, where a local guide will provide an interesting tour of this paradisiacal island. (B)

Day 8: Thursday- November 9, 2017 Amalfi Coast - Pompeii - Winery - Amalfi Coast Today, experience the excavated ruins of Pompeii at the foothills of Mount Vesuvius. Soak in the history of the preserved original buildings of a typical Roman town 2,000 years ago. A local guide will provide an in-depth tour of this remarkable archaeological site. Stop at a local winery at the foot of Mt. Vesuvius to savor the famous Lacryma Christo wines and enjoy a typical Neapolitan lunch. (B, L)

Day 9: Friday – November 10, 2017

Amalfi Coast - Naples - Rome

Bid farewell to the Amalfi Coast this morning and proceed to colorful and vibrant Naples. Enjoy a visit to the fascinating National Archaeological Museum, one of the finest in the world. This evening,

join your fellow travelers for a farewell dinner celebrating the completion of a marvelous trip to Italy. (B, D)

Day 10: Saturday-November 11, 2017Rome - Tour Ends

Experience It! Myths & Legends Approximately 55 miles south of Naples, Italy lies the ancient city of Paestum. Legends tell of the city's founding by Jason and the Argonauts, but archaeologists, uncomfortable with the stuff of legends, attribute Paestum's birth to 7th-century Greek colonists. With the fall of the Roman Empire, Paestum fell into decline and was deserted for many centuries. Rediscovered only in 1752 by an Italian road-building crew working in the area, Paestum is the finest preserved Greek temple complex in the Mediterranean world. The two primary temples, the 550 B.C. Basilica and the 450 B.C. Temple of Neptune, are archaeological wonders that will leave an impression on you long after your return home. The Temple of Neptune — in all its classic Doric beauty — has thick marble columns that are still strong and upright. It is the oldest and best preserved of the Greek temples in Italy, and it still inspires hope in those who visit its open-air shrine.

A third temple on the site was dedicated to Athena, the goddess of wisdom, spiritual consciousness and the arts.

Amalfi Coast Salerno By Night $70

Picturesque Salerno sits where the hills of the Sorrento peninsula plunge into the sea. Take a scenic drive to Salerno for dinner at one of

its new, chic restaurants. Stroll through Salerno’s charming, narrow streets, arriving in one of the city’s historic buildings in the center of the old town. The Taverna Santa Maria de Domno was once a 10th century church, Santa Maria de Dominabus. Enjoy an exquisite 4-

course meal complete with local fine wines in a romantic, unforgettable atmosphere. Buon appetito! Gratuities are included.

Rome The Vatican Museums and St. Peter's Basilica $80

The Vatican Museums are not only home to one of the world’s greatest collections of art, but also to the world-famous Sistine

Chapel. Priceless artifacts from ancient Egypt, Etruscan Italy and cultures around the world are preserved in the Vatican’s palaces,

galleries, halls and rooms. Follow a local expert guide on a three hour, in-depth visit through this vast collection. Highlights include the

Gallery of Maps, the Gallery of Tapestries and of course, a visit to the Sistine Chapel. The chapel’s famous ceiling frescoes took

Michelangelo four years to complete. His brilliant Last Judgment, which rests on the altar wall, was a topic of controversy for centuries.

Other walls feature paintings by Pietro Perugino, Sandro Botticelli, Cosimo Rosselli and Domenico Ghirlandaio. Your final stop will be at

St. Peter’s Basilica, one of the most important churches in Christendom, and until recently, the largest in the world. It is highly

This lively, fun-filled evening will be an unforgettable part of your visit to Rome and an engaging immersion into Italian culture. After dinner,

embark on the enchanting Rome by Night tour, seeing the famous landmarks of the “Eternal City” illuminated against the night sky. See

the Colosseum, Roman Forum, Victor Emmanuel Monument and many other highlights. Remember your evening of Italian romance and charm with a souvenir opera CD – one per couple and one for

Amalfi Coast Exploring Paradise, Isle of Capri $125

Spend the day exploring a Mediterranean paradise on the sparkling Bay of Naples. Embark from the port of Salerno and delight in a cruise to the wonderful Isle of Capri. Sail past the hill towns along the Amalfi Coast, passing colorful homes, lush gardens and architectural marvels.

Upon arrival, a local guide facilitates an interesting tour of this beautiful island via minibus. Spend time admiring the town of

Anacapri. From this vantage point (the ancient Greek prefix ana means above or up) savor grand views of the island and the Bay of Naples. Then, enjoy free time to experience the charming town of

Capri. Browse its elegant designer shops or sip a coffee in the Piazza and simply watch the world go by. A special ride along the funicular

takes you back toward the Marina Grande to board your boat for the return to Salerno. This option is weather permitting and boats may

depart from Naples during certain times of year. Duration: Approximately 9 hours. Please note a minimum of 20 passengers is
