PRESENTATION GOALS: • PROVIDE UPDATES TO PARENTS ON OUR REOPENING PLAN PROGRESS AND NEXT STEPS;• PROVIDE DOCUMENTS TO ASSIST PARENTS WITH VISUALIZING THE NEW PROTOCOLS;• DISCUSS HOW THE RECENT STATE AND DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH GUIDANCE HAVE BEEN INCORPORATED INTO OUR REOPENING PLAN DOCUMENT;
• RESPOND TO ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS FROM THE COMMUNITY; • PROVIDE DETAILS OF NEXT STEPS TOWARD REOPENING PLAN SUBMISSION TO THE STATE.
DISTRICT REOPENING PLAN PRIORITIES• PROVIDE FOR THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF OUR STUDENTS AND STAFF; • INCORPORATE SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL SUPPORTS INTO THE PLAN TO ADDRESS STUDENT AND STAFF TRAUMA;
• DEVELOP A COMPREHENSIVE PLAN THAT ENHANCES AND BEST MEETS THE DIVERSE ACADEMIC NEEDS OF STUDENTS IN THE MIDST OF THE PANDEMIC;
• PROVIDE EQUITABLE SUPPORT SERVICES TO ALL STUDENTS; • MAINTAIN STRONG AND ONGOING COMMUNICATION WITH ALL COMMUNITY STAKEHOLDERS.
RECAP OF ACTIONS TO DATE • PARENTS WERE SURVEYED BY THE DISTRICT DURING THE LAST WEEK OF JUNE; • DISTRICT AND SUBCOMMITTEES WERE ESTABLISHED AND HAVE MET AT LEAST TWICE PERWEEK FOR SIX WEEKS TO DEVELOP PLANS (ONE HUNDRED PARTICIPANTS IN AGGREGATE);
• FACEBOOK LIVE PRESENTATION TO THE COMMUNITY REGARDING INITIAL REOPENING PLAN UPDATES AND PARENT SURVEY RESPONSES;
• PARENT SURVEY RESPONSES WERE SHARED WITH THE COMMUNITY VIA DISTRICT WEBSITE;• COMPREHENSIVE QUESTION AND ANSWER DOCUMENT SHARED WITH THE COMMUNITY; • SECOND FACEBOOK LIVE PRESENTATION SCHEDULED TO DISCUSS UPDATES AND NEXT STEPS.

Initially, just remaining thoughtful and aware of proximity to others and protocols will go a long way to ensuring safety for all.
Additionally, timing of movement into, out of and through a building can also af fect how of ten people interact with one another.

SAMPLE MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENT SCHEDULE
• Students will attend school for 6 periods per day. Core subjects plus World Language or academic support.
• Each period will be approx. 60 minutes.
• Students will be grouped as a cohort to keep traveling to a minimum.
• Teachers will rotate into a classroom to reduce students traveling.
• Possibility teachers may change should we transition back to a full-day on-site schedule.

• On days students are not on-site, they will schedule for course work that they have periods 7-9.

ATHLETICS AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION
Charge of the Committee:
To assess and evaluate the Department of Athletics, Physical Education and Health Education aligning reentry plan with guidance from NYS.
MUSIC AND THE ARTS Charges of Committee: A. To provide the most suitable plan for incorporating the Arts into a Blended Learning Plan (inclusive of extra-curricular activities);
B. To provide the most efficient and effective manner for delivering the Arts through a Blended Learning Plan should Remote Learning resume;
C. To provide the most effective manner to integrate Arts into the SEL Curriculum (which is currently under development)
DISTRICT CHALLENGES • PARENTS HAVE DIFFERING CIRCUMSTANCES; • STUDENTS HAVE DIFFERING NEEDS AND CIRCUMSTANCES; • STAFF MEMBERS HAVE DIFFERING CIRCUMSTANCES; • FISCAL CRISIS ON FEDERAL STATE AND LOCAL LEVELS OF GOVERNMENT; • GUIDANCE IS EVER EVOLVING AS THE VIRUS IMPACT ON COMMUNITIES CHANGES.
NEXT STEPS • RESPOND TO ANY ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS; • RECOMMEND PLAN APPROVAL FOR BOARD CONSIDERATION AT THE JULY 27TH BUSINESS MEETING;
• SUBMIT PLAN TO THE STATE EDUCATION DEPARTMENT BY JULY 31ST; • POST REOPENING PLAN DOCUMENT ON DISTRICT WEBSITE FOR COMMUNITY REVIEW;• CREATION OF A COMMUNITY CENTERED EMERGENCY HEALTH COMMITTEE; • GOVERNOR’S ANNOUNCEMENT IN EARLY AUGUST.
