I rewrote the copy and captions for the Diyar resort's sales brochure. Located in the North of the Bahrain, Diyar will be built across a selection of islands, creating a historical island city resort a stones throw from Bahrain's capital city of Manama.

bahrain which literally means “two seas” and referred to by the greeks as “ tylos”, is one of the most historically rich countries in the middle east. Known in ancient times as dilmun, bahrain has been an important center of trade since the 3rd millennium bc. apart from being a trans-shipment point between arabia and india, it was also famous for the pearling activity conducted in the waters surrounding the islands in the ancient world.
an archipelago in the arabian gulf off the coast of saudi arabia, the Kingdom of bahrain has a causeway that connects two of its main islands - bahrain and al muharraq. today bahrain is perceived as a gateway to the middle east, the region’s key financial capital that’s constantly redefining itself on the global map.

harking back to the glory of the ancient dilmun era, this five thousand year old island used to be the region’s key political and social centre. muharraq was bahrain’s capital until 1923, a key centre for trade and commerce and a prime hub for the fishing industry and pearling. visitors to the island continue to flock to its popular market area, that’s surrounded by many landmarks of historical significance and architectural splendour.
till today, muharraq continues to have a distinct homely atmosphere, reflected in the friendly nature of the families living there, where time-honoured traditions and customs are still honoured. this has been a constant source of inspiration for shaping the community lifestyle offering that diyar al muharraq provides.

picturesque canals. stunningly beautiful marinas. spectacular new beaches. the largest publicly accessible waterfront in the kingdom stretching across 40 kilometres. everything about the diyar al muharraq development gives a new meaning to community living in bahrain by embracing its modern social and cultural fabric.

some architectural styles include inspirational bahraini designs, motifs and details, reflecting arabian themes, while others exhibit mediterranean influences. meanwhile all residences and facilities will incorporate the latest cutting edge conveniences and modern comforts in a tasteful and thoughtful way that respects the familiar muharraqi styles and tastes of the beloved old city.
