We encourage each of our members to own and
wear a name tag. This is extremely helpful for those of
us who have a hard time remembering names. The cost
of the name tag is $8.00 (recent increase). Payment in
cash at the time of placing the order is required. Orders
for name tags are taken at the first Saturday cruise in at
Krispy Kreme. Orders placed this month will be avail-
able for pickup the next month at Krispy Kreme.
Currently, there are a number of name tags
that are over six
months and a few
over a year old that
have not been
picked up. Check
with Chuck to see if
y o u o r d e r e d
one. If you need
your name tag prior
to the monthly cruise in contact Chuck at the following
phone number (205-777-8986) or e-mail
address ([email protected]) and I will try to expe-
dite your order. Thanks for your consideration.

BRAGGIN’ RIGHTS
This is a new spot in our newsletter and I hope it will be one we can continue. I put out the request for mem-
bers to send me pictures and updates of ongoing projects. Here are some of the ones I have received. Hope to
be hearing from you soon!
My project is a 1970 Skylark (GS clone) in the
final phases of painting, waiting on bumpers to
come back from chrome shop, seats are complete
and ready for installation . New top is next. Joe
Alfano.

Great Job!
I have been a member of the Club for several years as cars, particularly muscle cars, have been of interest to me. In 2007, I pur-
chased this 1974 Corvette from an individual in East Alabama. He had recently had the 350 engine rebuilt and the car painted a
more bold yellow than was its original yellow color. I upgraded the inte-
rior with new carpet, new seat covers, new clock and a couple of gauge
replacements. The car al- ready had after market wheels that looked to
me better suited for an S-10 pickup, so I changed to American Racing
wheels. I retained the P 265- 50-15 tires as I thought they gave a better
look than the 225-70-15 stock tires. This car was well equipped with
power steering, power brakes, power windows, tilt/telescoping
steering column, air condi- tioning and a strong Turbo 400 transmission
with a shift kit. An Edel- brock Performer Series carburetor and alu-
minum intake manifold were added to the engine. The rear is a 1980
rather than the turned down 1974 rear. I also prefer the later model mir-
ror T-Tops, but also have the original tops painted in body-matching yellow. When I bought this car, I knew it was not all original,
nor did I want a trailer queen. Since my purchase in 2007, I have driven my car about 55,000 miles. I usually do early morning
cruises 3-4 days a week. Cool morning air, a little music from an upgraded stereo system and sweet music from the exhaust pipes
(1974 was the last year with true dual exhausts without catalytic converters) make for a nice start of the day now in my retirement
life. Thanks, Walter Ramey
My husband Rocco Orlando is from Detroit , Michigan and absolutely LOVES Cars, Motorcycles and anything that has
wheels and a motor! Over the years he has customized a 2000 Harley
Davidson American Classic, restored a 1983 Jeep CJ 7 and just recently
finished building a Factory Five Shelby Cobra replica which took him
2 1/2 years to build with a good friend of his in California.
I want to recognize my hus- band not only because it is his Birthday
month but also to express how infinitely proud I am of all of his accom-
pl ishments . Love you babe! Jennifer Orlando
