What is your water foot print?
2
this is a diagram showing the U.s average
water foot print and my personal
water foot print. when going camping
this number drops drastically so it
is important to be able to conserve
the little water you take with you.
{Process
this shows water usage during our camping
trip (Valley of Fire). I gave each student
a survey asking how many times they
actually did these activities while camping.
The majority used water for drinking and
cooking. The rest was used for cleansing.

average usage per person necessary while
camping. one of those gallons is strictly
drinking water. the rest depend on the
importance of the different activities
for personal use: Cooking & cleansing.

Camping knowledge
Dj is a familiar camper that has been camping enough times to
know the ropes. He is not your ultra primitive camper but he
survives. He is high spirited and loves the outdoors. Although he
does not have the experience of an ultra camper he is interested
in getting out there. Dj is adventurous and cares about nature.

{Productenvironment
The environment for divvy is hot, desert
like, and has little wild life. Water is
scarce so bringing water is essential.
This product also works in other
climates but is ideal for desert camping.

{Productproduct concept
11
- The concept is to have each water bag near the task.
Example: Clean. would be by the designated restroom so
you can wash your hands when done.
- Each bladder has a water fact that reminds you how
scarce water is & why we should cherish it.
- Rationing your water while camping can help to minimize
overusage and under usage in each category.
- the concept is to have 3 water bladders categorized
by the things you use water for while camping: drinking,
cooking, & cleansing.
- Each water bladder can be hung around trees/rocks/
chairs to bring the water to the task .
Drink. cook. clean.
an american taking a 5

than the average person in
a developing country slum
uses for an entire day.

lack access to
clean water.
more people

Business Considerations
distributors: Outdoor retailer, REI
Altrec.com, Mountain gear,
cabela’s
Kirkham’s Outdoor Products,
backcountry.com, & other top
outdoor distributors.
joint ventures with other
similar companies to explore new
products after the first product
divvy is launched.
buyer-supplier relationships
with fabric companies in order to
assure available materials.
designing: Solid design team
manufacturing: Assembly of bag
out of country. Possible tooling
for nozzle. Sewing and heat
sealing done in factory.
delivering products: Shipping
products to U.S.. Factories then
shipped to local retailers.
Physical: divvy, the actual
product
intellectual: divvy, the concept.
also the design team that
creates the concepts.
Human: assembly & distributors.
Novelty or newness:
Divvy creates a break-through
function/need in the water
bladder industry. The need for
different bladders that can
be hung around a campsite for
different purposes of water use.
divvy Conserves water but also
reminds you to keep hydrated
while camping. optimization of
water while camping is a huge
problem because water gets
wasted, over used, and under
used in certain areas due to not
knowing how much has been used
and what is has been used for.
Co-creation:
Getting customers to engage
and write reviews about divvy
will let the product speak
for itself
outsourced to a partner: All
divvy products would be sold in
top outdoor retailer’s.
Niche Market: Special interest
in environmental awareness
and water conservation while
camping. Low cost. Highly
differentiated in concept but low
differentiated in the physical
aspect of water bladders.
Asset sales: Customers gain ownership of divvy or other purchased products by the
company when bought.
Value-Driven: Divvy is a highly differentiated concept with very high quality materials,
& functionality.

Production Mill Fabric Packaging Use
Nylon is a thermoplastic, silky material, first used commercially in a nylon-bristled toothbrush (1938), followed more famously by women's
stockings ("nylons"; 1940) after being introduced as a fabric at the 1939 New York World's Fair. Nylon is made of repeating units linked by
amide bonds and is frequently referred to as polyamide (PA). Nylon was the first commercially successful synthetic thermoplastic polymer.
