Children’s Harbor FEATURED PROJECT Note the manufacturing complexity of the unsymmetrical hexagonal profile of the columns. Structural Wood Systems recently had the privilege of producing laminated wood products for Children’s Harbor Mariner’s Adventure Camp located in Alexander City, AL. Founded in 1990, Children’s Harbor is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to serving children with long- term serious illnesses and their families through camping and adventure services. Frank Sledge, Structural Wood Systems Sales Representative, worked closely with the general contractor, Robins and Morton, and architect, Architecture Works, LLP. to ensure that materials were manufactured to exact project specifications. Manufactured at our facility in Greenville, AL., the laminated timbers, steel braces and rods comprise a very interesting roof framing concept. Quality control, attention to detail and years of experience allows Structural Wood Systems to be your one stop single source provider. These columns are also tapered, adding to the skill required for accurate fabrication.
