Greetings!

Hello Division 38! Can you believe it has already been a month of school already? I know I can’t! I am sure that you have all been busy this past month with your first meetings, collecting dues, and, of course, service! With October comes cooler temperatures and rain; however, don’t let the change in weather effect your club’s service! Bad weather just means Key Club must move indoors for a few months. Go from park cleanups and working in gardens to volunteering at the local food bank or making cards for children in the hospital! Also, everyone knows that October means Halloween, but Key Clubbers know that October means Trick-or-Treat for Unicef! Start promoting it and get your clubs to go out in groups or individually to collect money to support Unicef! I have begun scheduling club visitations, and I am really looking forward to meeting all of you officers and your clubs! If I have not yet scheduled a visit with your club, please let me know! My goal is to visit each of you at least twice during my term; however, that cannot happen unless you, the officers, contact me! Again, I am looking forward to seeing you all at club visits and DCMs, and have a Happy Halloween! In Caring Service, Linsie Michaels

started out! Good job Olympia and keep up the great work!

October Riddle: The more you have of it, the less you see. What is it?

Club Spotl ights!

Capital High School This month CHS has been

working hard in the Kiwanis Garden along with Olympia

High School! They have been working on getting the

pumpkins nice and ready for their yearly pumpkin carving

and jack-o-lantern sales! They have also been holding

weekly meetings and are working on collecting those

dues on time!

River Ridge HS

This month River Ridge has been working hard at their club meetings! So far, they

have had over 35 attendees at their

meetings, which is a great number for them! Keep up the good work River Ridge and don’t stop whatever it is you are doing to draw in

those members!

Fundraising and Service As the weather becomes colder, take Key Club

indoors! Here are a few ways to stay warm but keep your service going!

Card Making! Get your members together and

have a card making session! Donate the cards to a local

children’s hospital or retirement home! It’ll bring a smile to

someone’s face!

Family Game Night! Host a family game night and

help families spend time together! You could also turn it

into a raffle and raffle off a game basket!

Food Bank! Get a group of Key Clubbers together and volunteer at your local food bank! Help box and sort foods or just donate

some canned goods!

Fundraising and Service Continued

Blanket Making! Make tie-blankets with your Key Clubbers and donate them to a

local homeless shelter or hospital! People will be thankful for their warmth this upcoming season!

Trauma Dolls! Put your sewing skills to the test and make

trauma dolls! Once you make them, deliver them to children at a local hospital and let

them decorate a doll! It will give the children something to hold on to during their time in

the hospital!

Restaurant Take-Over! Ask businesses or food places in your area if they do a restaurant take over fundraiser or have a coupon booklet to sell! This is a great way to introduce

people to new places to eat in addition to raising money for your

club!
