Month OF November – seventh issue In order to keep our organization running smoothly, we must work together and communicate efficiently. Whether it is between officers and advisors or individual clubs and me, it is always important to maintain strong communication through whatever means necessary. However, communication is not a single sided. When anyone takes the time to email, message, or call, we must take the time out of our busy lives to return this gesture and reply. Jiayun Fang ®

Hello dedicated Key Club members,
I hope you are all enjoying your long Thanksgiving weekend. However cliché it might be, Thanksgiving is, of course, a time to reflect on our lives and contemplate what we are truly thankful for. As devoted leaders in our communities we are reminded of how blessed we are every time we serve someone less fortunate.
In order to keep our organization running smoothly, we must work together and communicate efficiently. Whether it is between officers and advisors or individual clubs and me, it is always important to maintain strong communication through whatever means necessary. However, communication is not a single sided. When anyone takes the time to email, message, or call, we must take the time out of our busy lives to return this gesture and reply.
Moreover, as a highly organized and productive organization, Key Club International depends on its members to keep it working. Not only does every
single member represent this 250,000 member strong organization when taking part in service projects, they are also contributing when they pay their dues annually. For a single member, state and international dues sum to $12. Officers, please update the online rosters and submit the necessary forms if your school is paying dues by December 1st.
Lastly, continue fundraising for Children’s Specialized Hospital and promoting Generosity Rocks! This is the one project that distinguishes our New Jersey District from all other districts in Key Club so help us reach our goal of $75,401.65.

March of Dimes: Prematurity Awareness
Month
Did you know that each and every day, more than 1,400 infants in the United States will be born prematurely? Premature birth is the biggest killer among newborn babies. Even babies that are only a few weeks early can still suffer from lifelong illnesses which threaten their lungs, heart and immune system. In our country, 1 in every 8 infants is born prematurely, and many of those births could have been prevented!
The March of Dimes is working every day to help reduce the number of deaths of premature babies and mothers. They are working to find the causes and cures for premature births and are working with hospitals all over the country to better equip their Neonatal Intensive Care Units and help save lives.
Now, what can you do to get involved? There are several things
you can do and help fight for preemies. Get your friends, club, and the entire school together. Don’t forget to also contact your local March of Dimes Chapter; they can help you get things started. A great thing to try is to have a 2 Week Fundraising Plan. Every day, have a different way to spread March of Dimes awareness and raise money. Things like a coin collection, denim day, food sales, purple day are all great ideas and very easy to implement. Talk to your advisors and principals about the cause and they should be more than willing to help. Don’t forget to use the internet to help promote your events!
All over the country more and more teens are getting together and Partnering with March of
Dimes, and you can too! You can volunteer at a volunteer at NICU in your local hospital, or holding a book and toy drive to donate to children. The possibilities are endless once you decide to get involved and every little bit makes a difference!
Check out all the resources available to you at marchofdimes.com, www.marchofdimesyouth.com/files/PAMYouthToolkit.pdf, and in the International Programs Cookbook. Good luck!

Thank you for all the time and effort that you have devoted to Key Club and I hope you will continue this commitment through the rest of your life. 11-20 – Not bad! You need to work on some areas that you didn’t score as well while trying to maintain what you have been doing. Maybe you were too overwhelmed by the first few months of school? Now is the time to pick it up! 0-10 –Yikes! Most clubs wind down a little in the winter so you should have more free time to catch up on these Key Club essentials. Start by making to do list of all the Key Club work and all the school work you have to do. Then, map out a schedule in your head and get to it!
