Through his healings and teachings, Jesus knew and was aware of his surroundings and he never did some- thing without first thinking it through. Jesus knew what he was doing and why he was doing it. In the Gospel today , we hear of the miracle of the loaves and fish. He knew that he would need to feed this crowd of people miraculously and that he was happy to do it. It was his way of giving them another sign of his love for them. He didnt want just to heal them and send them on their way. He wanted to share a meal to them. He wanted to spend more time with them– the kind of quality time that happens during a shared meal. This is part of the wonder of the Body and Blood of Christ. Jesus wants to spend some time with us. He wants to spend some time with you. He loves you for who you are, not just for what he can do for you. He enjoys your company and he wants to share his love for you. Jesus promised to be with us in a special way at Mass. Every time we receive Communion, he comes into our lives. He comes to tell us that he loves us and he values us. He loves us so much that he is committed to giving us his blessings. Jesus is waiting for us at Mass today. He is waiting for us every day in the Tabernacle. Spend a moment, an hour with Him. Let his friendship and love warm your heart. Let us share the love that we receive from his heart and in the Eucharist with the people that we come into contact with in our every day lives. Let the Light of Christ shine out in our lives in the simple moments and the challenging moments. Divine Mercy Sunday
