General Function

Mission StatementThe Northwest ISD Maintenance

Department dedicates all their efforts to providing a clean, safe, and comfortable environment which enhances the instructional process.

• 1 State Certified Integrated Pest Management Coordinator with State Vector’s Applicators License (Covers Mosquito Fogging)

• 4 Electrical Technicians– 1 Master Electrician License– 2 Journeyman Electrician License– 1 Apprentice Electrician

• 4 HVAC Technicians– 2 Class A Mechanical Contractors License– 1 Class B Mechanical Contractors License– 5 Certified for Refrigerant Handling

• 3 Plumbing Technicians– 1 Master Plumber License– 1 Journeyman Plumber License– 1 Irrigation License– 3 Certified Backflow Protection

• 2 Electronics Technician- Fire, Security, Marquees– State Fire Alarm Technician License

• 3 High School Building Technicians• 3 Preventative Maintenance Technicians

– Certified Playground Equipment Safety Inspection• 4 Carpenters• 4 Painters- Work 3:00 pm to 1:30 am 4 days per week• 1 Roofer• 2 Kitchen Equipment Technician• 1 Locksmith• 3 Warehouse and Delivery

NISD Belief: Kids Come First.The Maintenance Department

provides services which ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment and is available for all Northwest ISD students. Services that affect students are prioritized to minimize an adverse impact on instruction.

NISD Belief: Continuous improvement is critical for success of Northwest Independent School District.

The Maintenance Department works closely with the Curriculum Department to ensure that the services provided meet the instructional needs. Maintenance staff is continually trained to stay abreast of the ever improving systems that are being placed in our facilities.

Core Beliefs

NISD Belief: The success of each student is the shared responsibility of students, families, schools, and communities.

The Maintenance Department provides equal services throughout the District.

Core Beliefs

NISD Belief: Environment influences learning.

Of all the Core Beliefs, this is the one belief that is best represented by the services provided by the Maintenance Department. Through planned replacement and preventative maintenance, we avoid problems that would adversely effect the instructional environment.
