BACKGROUND AND GOALS FOR TODAY

• The District 4 conference in 2013 voted on a joint project for advocacy and service.

• Purpose of the District Project is to raise awareness of Violence Against Women and Girls and the community resources available for someone to seek help through the use of posters in the communities; – Many of our clubs already work with groups in your communities

providing assistance in both time and donations.• Today an update on the project status will be presented and discuss,

– How can each club participate in the district project?• As with the birthing kit project, we will be tweaking it as we go along. • Today we seek to share the experience clubs have had so far with

the poster project with other clubs in the district

Questions for Discussion

• How can it work in your area• Since the project can extend to several different forms of violence

• Brainstorm how the club would pitch their approach with these agencies; discuss with a group that organizes presentations on this topic in the community such as the police

• Brainstorm list of locations to locate the poster; i.e. universities, service stations, doctor offices, retail stores; and looking at locations, what does one need to do, what materials are necessary, how often should they be checked

• A discussion of benchmarking - monitoring, feedback, impact - how could we do this?

• After we are up and running, does Zonta want to become part of a speakers group
