Circle K International CKI UCLA Circle K Mentor Application: Part 1 Deadline: 11:59 P.M. of June 2 nd 2016 Send to: [email protected] Thank you for deciding to apply to become a mentor! In considering mentorship, you’ve stepped up as a leader and role model in UCLA Circle K. As a mentor, you play an essential role in breaking down our club’s large size and strengthening it through the interpersonal relationships you create with your mentees. In addition, you can provide younger members with the insight they may seek regarding professional and self-development and guide them through their growth inside and outside of Circle K. In return, we hope you can take away something even greater from your mentorship, be it a new friend or a new perspective in helping others. Simply put, a mentor is a friend: one who is willing to help someone who may be seeking your guidance and camaraderie. Because Circle K provides so many opportunities for its members, it opens up the chance for your mentees to find their place in the club and to develop. Therefore, as mentors, you can link your mentee to these opportunities by: Cultivating a personal, supportive environment for your mentee; Encouraging involvement with Circle K by attending events together; Consistently updating the ME&R Chair and the family godparent on the progress of your mentorship; Planning mentorship events with the ME&R Chair and godparents; and Working with your family heads and godparents to engage cubbies and plan events. Most importantly, I want you to enjoy yourselves. Mentorship is a responsibility, but it is worth seeing your mentees grow and eventually become the mentor you once were to them. It is heartwarming to know you will have been a key influence in their lives. Guidelines: UCLA Circle K ◦ Mentor Application: Part I Page 1 of 4

Thank you for deciding to apply to become a mentor!

Therefore, as mentors, you can link your mentee to these opportunities by:

Cultivating a personal, supportive environment for your mentee;Encouraging involvement with Circle K by attending events together;Consistently updating the ME&R Chair and the family godparent on the progress of your mentorship;Planning mentorship events with the ME&R Chair and godparents; andWorking with your family heads and godparents to engage cubbies and plan events.

Most importantly, I want you to enjoy yourselves. Mentorship is a responsibility, but it is worth seeing your mentees grow and eventually become the mentor you once were to them. It is heartwarming to know you will have been a key influence in their lives.
