Page 1 of 3 DISRUPTIVE INNOVATION DEBATE LEADS MULTIMODAL SEMINAR LINE UP Multimodal 2016 seminar line-up announced as on-line voting for the FTA Multimodal awards opens London, UK, Monday, 8th February 2016 – Disruptive innovation, warehouses of the future, the impact of mega shipping vessels, and the future of UK airports all feature in the Multimodal Seminar line-up released today. Best practice for new legislation, including container weights and the new EU Customs rules, will also be examined as part of three days of panel debates and practical workshops at the free-to-attend event between the 10 th and 12 th May at the Birmingham NEC. “This year sees the implementation of important new legislation affecting all sectors of the supply chain, and keeping up to speed on best practice is vital,” said Emma Murray, Multimodal Seminar Director. “We have put together a programme of practical sessions to help visitors better understand the impact of the new rules on their business. “We will also be hosting panel debates looking at innovative ideas to help logistics companies respond to the changing face of retail in the wake of the e-business revolution.” Multimodal 2016 has once more teamed up with the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) and the Freight Transport Association (FTA) to put together three days of information sessions also covering green initiatives, finance in the supply chain, using KPIs as incentivisors and launching retail in Asia. Doddle Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Tim Robinson will be joining former Virgin Galactic President Will Whitehorn, currently Chairman of Transport Systems Catapult, for a debate on disruptive innovation. Lars Kjaer, Senior VP, World Shipping Council will be explaining best practice for container weights in light of the new legislation, and The Co- operative’s National Transport Manager Justin Kirkhope will join Kevin

This week also sees the launch of on-line voting for the FTA Multimodal 2016 Awards, which take place at the Vox Conference Centre on the evening of May 10th. Voting is open for air cargo, road freight, sea freight, and rail freight operator of the year, as well as freight forwarder of the year on-line via the awards portal at www.multimodal.org.uk Multimodal 2015 was the biggest in the show’s history with over 8500 supply chain decision makers visiting over 290 logistics experts and more are expected this year. The show has boosted its registration system to connect visitors through social media and maximise networking opportunities with exhibitors.
