Congratulations on your purchase of one of the most technically advanced exit sign luminaire - VISION.VISION is developed and produced 100% in Germany.

1. Handling

VISION is a technical product. Please read the safety instructions (see section 6) before commissioning. The law requires that a “responsible person” has to be named for this product, who records the test results of the weekly functional and annual endurance tests “in a test book including the date”. The result of the respective test can be read over the LED status display. It has to be ensured that two adjacent VISION luminaires are not tested in the same time interval. Note: the test duration (up to 3 hours) and the recharge time (20 hours) are to be taken into consideration. We recommend scheduling the test of the adjacent luminaires to take place 2 days later.

VISION is equipped with the AutoCheck function (self-diagnostics function), and automatically carries out the weekly functional and annual endurance tests. The following is checked: the switchover from mains to emergency mode, the charger, the battery voltage, the LED array and the battery capacity over the complete duration of the supply (only for the endurance test).

The AutoCheck timer is started when VISION is connected to the mains voltage for the first time. The first functional test runs exactly one week later. The 53rd test is an endurance test. This is also started automatically. You can change the start time of the AutoCheck timer by starting the functional test via the test button:

VISION is equipped with a nickel-metal hydride battery. The battery should be charged for at least 20 hours following commissioning. The battery is then fully charged and can power the LED array for at least 3 hours in the event of a mains failure. Ensure that the VISION environmental temperature is +10°C to +40°C. Temperature differences shorten the lifetime of the battery.

VISION can be operated as maintained and non-maintained luminaire.There are two jumpers on the middle of the board for this purpose. The position is marked with DS for maintained lighting (jumper centre-right) and BS for non-maintained lighting (jumper centre-left).

Select the operating mode you need and start a manual function test. The luminaire is preset as maintained luminaire at time of delivery.

The current status of the VISION lighting is shown over multi-coloured LED status display:

Mains operation: Mains voltage available. The battery is charged.

Test mode: VISION is currently running a test (AutoCheck function). Test duration of weekly function test – about 5 minutes. Test duration of annual endurance test – up to 3 hours.

Power failure:VISION is supplied by the battery (Back-up time: 3 hours)Help:Check whether there is mains voltage on the network terminal. This has to be 230V AC-50/60Hz.

LED array: At least one LED has malfunctioned/has reduced light intensity.Help:The LEDs are firmly mounted to the motherboard. These cannot be replaced individually. To replace, disconnect the battery from the motherboard and replace the

Installation and assembly work may only be carried out by a qualified electrician.

• Do not cover the product.• Do not hang or attach anything to the

properly. In case of malfunction, do NOT touch or

continue to operate the product. Touching and continuing to operate the

product when there is a malfunction carries the risk of danger to life from electric shock, burning hazard or fire hazard!

There is a malfunction if:• visible damage appears• the product cannot be run properly (e.g.

flickering)• it smokes, steams or there are audible

crackling noises• the smell of fire arises• overheating is detected

Only operate the product again following maintenance and inspection by a qualified electrician.

humidity• not be exposed to strong mechanical stress

8. Care

Clean the product regularly – only with a damp, soft and lint-free cloth.

• Warranty: In the event of a warranty case, please contact your specialist dealer.

• Storage: The product has to be stored in a dry area, where it is protected from contamination and mechanical stress.

• Disposal: Do not dispose the product with household waste! Products with this symbol conform to the directive (WEEE, 2003/108) on electric and electronic equipment to be disposed via the local collection points for waste electric equipment! The battery has to be disposed separately.

packaging and remove any transport protection.

• When disposing of the packaging, follow the relevant environmental regulations of your country.

• Before disposing of the packaging material, check that all parts of the product have been removed.

Installation site• The product is suitable for mounting on

walls and ceilings.• Only mount the product on a stable and even

foundation, which is secure from toppling over.

Useful informationVISION is powered by a durable, nickel-metal hydride battery.To extend the battery life, disconnect the power supply of the VISION light for at least 1 hour every 2 months.
