Carrie is a seven-time GRAMMY Award-winning, multi-platinum, country music superstar, and devoted philanthropist. She uses her platform to contribute to causes she feels passionate about, and charity work has always been a priority for her. She and her husband, Mike Fisher, are ardent supporters of Danita’s Children, an organization dedicated to providing a nurturing environment for children and families in Haiti.

In addition to supporting countless charities, Carrie founded her own in 2009, entitled C.A.T.S. (Checotah Animal, Town, and School) Foundation, which is a fund that supports various causes in her hometown of Checotah, Oklahoma. It is a privilege to recognize such an inspiring individual who truly embodies the word HERO.

Since winning the inaugural season of American Idol in 2002, Clarkson has undeniably become one of the most iconic recording artists in the industry. She has released eight studio albums, sold over 25 million records worldwide and has had 27 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, including 11 top 10s with 3 of those charting at No.1.

Since her career began, she has had over 20 chart-topping singles on Radio Disney, beginning with her debut single, “A Moment Like This” in 2002, and most recently with her songs “Heat” and “Love So Soft,” from her album Meaning of Life.

The RDMA ‘Icon’ Award recognizes an artist whose career has shaped popular culture, transformed the music industry, and whose music is loved by generations of Radio Disney fans.

Kelly Clarkson exemplifies a true Radio Disney icon and we are proud to celebrate her as the recipient of our RDMA ‘Icon’ Award.

Carlos Polanco was named the Youth of the Year by the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. He has been a member of the club for six years and continues to lead, succeed, and inspire. Not only does Carlos volunteer his time at soup kitchens and high school open houses, but he is also the first male to volunteer at the Club’s early childhood department. He helped found the Clifton Student Union, which is run entirely by students, for students, and provides representation to Clifton’s Education Committee.  We are so proud to celebrate Carlos and we can’t wait to see what he’ll do next!
