Aluminium and silver parts have a tendency todiscolour and fade during the wash cycle. Even sometypes of glass (e.g. crystal glass objects) may turncloudy after many wash cycles.

Glass and utensil damageCauses:

Glass type and glass production process.Chemical composition of the detergent.Water temperature of the wash programme.

Recommendation:Use only glasses and porcelain which themanufacturer designates as dishwasher-proof.Use a detergent which protects utensils.Take glass and cutlery out of the dishwasher as soonas possible after the programme ends.

Loading the dishwasherRemove large food remnants. It is not necessary to prerinse utensils under runningwater.Place the utensils so that they are secure and cannot tip over. all utensils with their openings face down. parts with curves or indentations are at an angle,

thereby allowing water to drain. does not obstruct rotation of the two spray arms

Detergent

You can use tablets as well as powder or liquiddetergents for dishwashers, but never use washing upliquid. Tablets contain not only detergent but alsorinse-aid and salt (3in1) and, depending on thecombination (4in1, 5in1, etc.), additional componentssuch as glass protection or stainless steel cleaner. If tablets contain rinse-aid and salt, it is usually notnecessary to add additional rinse-aid and salt up to aspecific degree of hardness. If the degree of hardnessis higher and if using solo detergents (powder or liquiddetergents or tablets without rinse-aid and salt)rinse-aid and salt must be added. The appliance dosesthese automatically according to the preset values forwater hardness and amount of rinse-aid.As soon as combined detergent products are used, the rinse programme is adjusted automaticallyto ensure the best possible rinsing and dryingresult.TipFollow the instructions for use or the instructions on thedetergent packaging to ensure that rinse-aid and saltare used effectively. If you have further questions, we recom- mend that youcontact the detergent manufacturers’ helpline.

Detergent dispenser with dosing aidThe graduated detergent dispenser 33 helps you addthe correct amount of powder or liquid detergent:lower line: 15 mlmiddle line: 25 mlfull: 50 ml

Adding detergentPour detergent into the dispenser 33 (insert tabletflat, not on its edge). Dosage: see manufacturer’s instructions on thepackaging.Close the cover on the detergent dispenser bysliding it up until the lock engages without difficulty.

The detergent dispenser opens automatically at theoptimum time depending on the programme. The powder or liquid detergent is distributed in theappliance and is dissolved, the tablet falls into thetablet collecting tray where it dissolves in doses.

TipIf the utensils are only lightly soiled, slightly less thanthe indicated amount of detergent is usually adequate.

WarningsDo not place small parts for washing in the tabletcollecting tray 24 ; this prevents the tablet fromdissolving evenly. If you want to add more utensils after theprogramme has started, do not use the tabletcollecting tray 24 as a handle for the upper basket. The tablet could already be there and you will touchthe partially dissolved tablet.

NoteYou will obtain optimum rinsing and drying results byusing solo detergents and applying salt and rinse-aidseparately. f programmes are short, tablets may not have fullcleaning effect due to different dissolving propertiesand there may even be undissolved detergentresidue. It is recommended to use washing powderfor these programmes. The Intensive programme (on some models)requires one tab only. When using washing powder, you can apply some of this cleaning agent to theinside of the appliance’s door.Even if the rinse-aid and/or salt refill indicator is lit,the rinse programme will run correctly if combineddetergents are used (when using combineddetergents, add rinse-aid at a water hardness above21 dH – see chapter entitled “Rinse-aid”).If you switch from combined detergents to solodetergents, ensure that the water softening systemand amount of rinse-aid have been set to the correctvalue. If using detergents in a water-soluble protectivecover: Take hold of the cover with dry hands onlyand put the detergent into an absolutely drydetergent dispenser only, otherwise the detergentmay stick.

Additional options

* depending on modelAdditional options 9 can be set with the buttons.

Turbo *The programme running time is reduced significantly inthe Turbo programme. The energy consumption isincreased by up to 30% due to more intensive heating. The time reduction affects the following programmes:Auto: Time reduction up to 25 %Eco: Time reduction up to 58 %

Energy Save *Water and energy consumption can be reduced withthe Energy Save function. The running time isextended for optimum cleaning and drying results.

Half load *If you have only a few items to wash (e.g. glasses, cups, plates), you can switch to “half load”. This willsave water, energy and time. It is recommended to puta little less detergent in the detergent dispenser thanfor a full load.

Hygiene *The temperature is increased during the rinsingprocess. This increases the hygiene status. Thisadditional option is ideal for cleaning e.g. choppingboards and baby bottles.

IntensiveZone *Perfect for a mixed load. You can wash very soiled potsand pans in the lower basket together with normallysoiled utensils in the upper basket. The spray pressurein the lower basket is intensified, the rinsingtemperature is increased slightly.

Extra drying *

An increased temperature during the final rinse and anextended drying phase mean that even plastic parts drywell. There is a slight increase in the energyconsumption.

Washing the dishes

Programme dataThe programme data (consumption values) can befound in the summary of instructions. They refer tonormal conditions and the water hardness set value

. Different influencing factors such as watertemperature or line pressure may result in deviations.

Aqua sensor ** depending on modelThe Aqua sensor is an optical measuring device (lightbarrier) which measures the turbidity of the rinsingwater. The Aqua sensor is used according to the programme. If the Aqua sensor is active, “clean” rinsing water canbe transferred to the next rinse bath and waterconsumption can be reduced by 3–6 litres. If theturbidity is greater, the water is drained and is replacedwith fresh water. In the automatic programmes thetemperature and running time can also be adjustedto the degree of soiling.

Zeolith dryingThe appliance features a Zeolith-container. Zeolith is amineral which can store moisture and heat energy andrelease them again.During the washing step this heat energy is used to drythe mineral and heat up the rinsing water.During the drying phase moisture from the washingcompartment is stored in the mineral and heat energyis released. This released heat energy is blown into the washingcompartment with dry air. This accelerates andimproves drying. These processes therefore save a great deal of energy.

WarningPlease ensure that the intake opening 25 is notobstructed and do not place any temperature-sensitiveutensils in the lower basket at the rear right side abovethe blow opening 26 .Do not touch the blow opening 26 . The blow openingbecomes hot and, furthermore, any damage will resultin a callout by customer service.
