    Where IT is Philippians 3:10-11

Being Where IT is is not beinghyped up about a new thing or in a specific category

of culture. IT is not a feeling or fad but, according to Paul, is the person of Jesus

Christ, who is the sufficient Savior and the supreme person to experience and know.

Opening Question: When you were growing up, what was the ITor INthing? What

did it mean to be where IT is? How important was it to you to be where IT is?

What does the need to be where IT is tell us about our souls?

Discussion Questions: Have someone in your group read Philippians 3:10-11. Ask

your group members, Share what this passage can teach us about what it means to

know Christ. Interact on how we can experience the power of Christs

resurrection in our lives. Ask group members, How have you personally experience

    being changed by Christ?

Read the prayer Tom shared and ask group members, How does this resonate with

where you are right now in your journey?

Francois Fenelon, an 18th century priest, gives us a picture of what it might look like to

know Christ and the power of his resurrection. At least it is a start. Tell God all that is

in your heart, as one unloads ones heart . . . to a dear friend. Tell Him your troubles,

that He may comfort you; tell Him your joys, that He may sober them; tell Him your

longings, that He may purify them; tell Him your dislikes, that He may help you

conquer them; show Him the wounds of your heart, that He may heal them; lay bear

your indifference to good, your depraved tastes for evil, your instability. Tell Him how

self-love makes you unjust to others, how vanity tempts you to be insincere, how pridedisguises you to yourself and others. If you thus pour out all your weaknesses, needs,

troubles, there will be no lack of what to say. You will never exhaust the subject. It is

continually being renewed. Blessed are they who attain such familiar, unreserved

intercourse with God. (Ox Cart, p. 309)

Ask group members, How have suffering and sacrifice contributed to you knowing

Christ and experiencing the power of His resurrection?Conclude by asking group

members, How will you practice the four applications given simplify, celebrate,

    avoid avoidance, hope?

Prayer Time- You can use your prayer time to pray for each others needs to liveout the four areas of application. Ask group members, What is one specific way this

group can pray for you to experience more of being where IT is?
