DISCUSSION
1. Relationship between suitability energy intake and nutritional status
The results showed that there is a significant correlation between suitability of energy
intake against undernutrition status (p = 0.000 and 95% !" #.9$0 to 1#.1& (.#51'' this )eans
that the students who ha*e the appropriate nu)ber of calories likely to ha*e a nor)al nutritional
status that is e+ual to .#51 ti)es the odds co)pared to students who ha*e the a)ount of energy
intake that does not fit. This is consistent with pre*ious studies conducted Restiani in ,-
-uha))adiyah /akarta #1 which states that the eistence of a significant relationship between
energy intake and nutritional status (Restiani 01'. The i)balance between energy intake with

#. Relationship between suitability of energy intake and physical acti*ity and nutritional status
ased on the results of analysis has indicate that the suitability of the energy intake
affects the status of undernutrition while physical acti*ity did not affect the nutritional status.
This )eans that if the a)ount of energy intake that enter the body does not correspond to the
a)ount of energy re+uired intake the nutritional status is likely to be less.
!f ecessi*e energy intake and energy ependiture is not )atched by a balanced (with less
physical acti*ity' it will lead to weight gain and applies also to the contrary if the physical
acti*ity is )ore and it did not balanced with enough energy intake it can lead to weight loss
(3idayati et al 010'.
Bight physical acti*ity is done with intensity below 150 )inutes per week while )oderate
physical acti*ity is done with the intensity of 150;#00 )inutes per week.
The weakness of this study a)ong others data collection with +uestionnaires and inter*iews are
subCecti*e so that the correctness of data relied hea*ily on the honesty and the ability to
re)e)ber each respondent in addition to the >> respondents said there were gi*en an allowance
of Cust enough to transport to co))ute to school $0 respondents on a diet $9 respondents were
not happy with the food ser*ed at houses and ## people say that itDs because of econo)ic factors.
Bi)itations of ti)e collecting data fro) all respondents thus affecting the accuracy of the data
collected. ?urther research is needed on the factors that influence the incidence of )alnutrition
a)ong school children eg stress factors the factors underlying disease and others.

?ro) the results and discussion that has been described can be deduced as follows"
a. There is a relationship between lack of energy intake and the incidence of )alnutrition a)ong
se*enth grade students in ,-7 6ediri and -Ts 7 6ediri with a *alue of p = 0.000.
b. There was no relationship between physical acti*ity and the incidence of )alnutrition in the
se*enth grade students of ,- 7egeri 6ediri and -Ts 7 6ediri with a *alue of p = 0.&.
ADVICE
a. Reacti*ate )onitoring of nutritional status of school children to )onitor the growth and
de*elop)ent of nutritional status. This can be done through the ,chool 3ealth Enit rogra)
(E6,' that already eist.
b. 3old regular counseling about nutrition and health to school students and also their parents.
c. 7eeds to be done further research on other factors affecting the nutritional status of school
children.
