PreludePrayer of St. Francis (Peter Mathews)Claire FrazierLord, make me an instrument of thy peace.Where there is hatred, let me sow love;Where there is injury, pardon;Where there is doubt, faith;Where there is despair, hope;Where there is darkness, light;Where there is sadness, joy.
O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seekTo be consoled as to console,To be understood as to understand,To be loved as to love; For it is in giving that we receive; It is in pardoning that we are pardoned; It is in dying to self that we are born to eternal life.

When the king came near the den, he called to Daniel in an anguishedvoice, “Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom youserve continually, been able to rescue you from the lions?”
LitanyLeader: O God of Dawn and Dusk, each morning we rise to meet Your
new mercies as we fill our lungs with the sweet perfume of life.Like your servant Daniel who each day would turn to You in prayer three times, wake us from our slumber to call out prayersof praise and supplication to You.
People: O God beyond all praising, we worship You today, and sing the love amazing that songs cannot repay!
Leader: O God of Calling and Commission, at midday we break from ourwork to refuel our bodies with the gifts of Your bounty and restuntil the afternoon work resumes. Remind us to also fill our souls, for we know that every good and perfect gift comes fromYou. Fill our heart with gratitude as we pray our noonday prayersof thanksgiving.
People: For we can only wonder at every gift You send,at blessings without number and mercies without end.
Leader: O God of Slumber and Renewal, we lie down our bodies at theend of each day, sometimes full of gratitude, sometimes full ofanxiety, sometimes full of shame. Gracious God, we ask that You forgive us each and every day for the wrong deeds we havedone and the right deeds we have left undone. Hold us tightly,God, as we wait for You to wake us for the work of another day.
People: We lift our hearts before You and wait upon Your Word,we honor and adore You, our great and mighty Lord.
All: Though Darius may punish Daniel for his daily devotion to You,O God, we know that his kingdom will fall, but the royal reignof our Risen King Jesus shall never come to an end! Amen! Amen!
Morning Prayer, concluding with the Lord’s PrayerSusan Moore, Ministry CoordinatorOur Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debtsas we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptationbut deliver us from evil, for Thine is the Kingdom and the powerand the glory forever and ever. Amen.
