YMCA Kuwait conducted week ofprayer and world fellowship meet-ing presided over by Mathew
Eapen (Vice President). The YMCA weekof prayer is a tradition dating back to1904. Each year in the month ofNovember, the YMCA movements issue ajoint call for prayer, building upon theprayers that have been spoken for over100 years. The theme for this year’s weekof prayer is “BE THE CHANGE”. Rev Samji KSam, Vicar of St Peters CSI church, gavethe message based on the theme. TheWeek of Prayer and World Fellowship of

12th grader makes
short film ‘Soul’
Action, start camera and cut were familiar wordsfor Vrishchik Lazar, a grade 12 student at UnitedIndian School, Jleeb since he is a voracious film
buff. However, when he made his own short film, Soul,he did not have to use these buzz words. Not becausethe actor being filmed is his friend Joel but the directorhandled the camera by himself. All he had to wait forwas his principal’s permission to shoot in the schoolpremises, and a holiday to film the silence.
The 8-minute short film Soul is ready, the little-bigdirector said. The post-production works were complet-ed last week at his Abbassiya house all on a laptop.‘Soul’ follows a boy who goes to classroom 10 as if he isin search of something accompanied by soulful musicand a piece of voiceover. “The short film has flashes ofbrilliance, something I had not expected from thesekids” , said Sreekumar Bhaskar who helped with thepost production.
Nandhanam Kuwait to
hold ‘Arangetram 2013’
Nandhanam Kuwait, a socio-cultural organizationpromoting India’s rich culture and values inKuwait, is conducting its second “Arangetram”, a
students’ debut on stage dance performance, at theAmerican International School, Maidan Hawalli - Kuwaiton Friday, November 29.
Kavya Madhavan, an eminent and an accomplishedfilm artist and a dancer, Kerala State Film Award for BestActress twice, will be a special guest for this event. The‘Arangetram’ will be conducted in its traditional formatby experienced professional artists from India includingBijeesh Krishna (vocal), Venugopal Kallamparambil(mridangam), Suresh Krishnannambudiri (violin) andCherthala Sreenath (edakka).
