DART (DALLAS AREA RAPID TRANSIT)Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) connects Dallas to 12 surrounding cities with modern public transit services and customer facilities tailored to make commuting fast, comfortable and economical. DART’s extensive network of DART Rail, Trinity Railway Express (TRE) and bus services moves more than 220,000 passengers per day across a 700-square-mile service area.
The Orange Line of DART light rail service connects downtown Dallas to Las Colinas and continues on to Terminal A of DFW International Airport, connecting to the airport’s in-place SkyLink system (the largest airport rail system in the U.S.). The Las Colinas Urban Center DART station is just a five minute walk from the front doors of The Towers at Williams Square.
Entering Las Colinas from the south along E. John Carpenter Freeway (SH 114), the new DART Orange Line travels along the median of Lake Carolyn Parkway, east of and adjacent to the heart of the Urban Center. The portion of the Orange Line that traverses Las Colinas will serve two stations; one located immediately north of the Alta Lakeshore Loft development along Lake Carolyn Parkway and the second located north of the Urban Center along Northwest Highway, within walking distance of both the Irving Convention Center and the Towers at Williams Square.
AREA PERSONAL TRANSIT SYSTEM (APT)The Area Personal Transit System is the Urban Center’s 1.4-mile dual-line transportation system designed to carry passengers between the restaurants, office buildings, retail developments and residential communities throughout the Urban Center. The developing DART Orange Line will provide increased connectivity for APT passengers interested in transportation to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport or Downtown Dallas.
