Health & Safety regulations are becoming increasingly important in the Middle East; therefore, demand for the latest personal protective equipment has never been greater. This will increase spending on health and safety products and services in the region to ensure higher standards of safety in the workplace.
A new management system, recently introduced by the government of the UAE, will focus on fostering a health and safety
culture not only in government institutions but also across transport, energy, health, construction, tourism, waste industry and other sectors.

Homeland Security & Policing
Following the rapid socio-economic development of the Middle East, Homeland Security is now a top priority in the region. National budgets are growing to keep national security equipment up-to-date and counter ongoing threats. The market for Homeland Security in the UAE will continue growing as the government doubles its budget from USD 5.5 billion to USD 10 billion during the next decade.
• The global Homeland Security and Emergency Management market is forecast to reach USD 546 billion by 2022 (HSRC, Q1 2014)
• Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait and China are the fastest growing Homeland Security and Public Safety markets in the world (HSRC, Q1 2014)

The Physical Security market was valued at USD 55.59 billion in 2013 and is forecast to reach USD 85.51 billion by 2018 (MarketsandMarkets). Global market size for electronic perimeter security sensors in oil refineries is predicted to top USD 160 million in 2014 (IHS). There is growing demand for perimeter protection in the Middle East, especially at critical infrastructure sites, with particular emphasis on electronic perimeter security at electrical utilities and oil refineries.
Intersec’s Homeland Security section nearly doubled in size between 2013 and 2014. Once dominated by the US and EU, the Aviation Security market will shift to the Gulf States and China during the next 10 years, with combined global market share exceeding 60% (HSRC, 2014).
