Choosing Your Flooring

LaminatesIn most cases, laminate flooring simulates the appearance of a real wood floor. But as it is not a real wood floor, laminates have cast aside some of the practical draw backs you might find with wood floors. the colours and characteristics of laminate flooring are determined by a decorative foil that is then coated with a transparent melamine layer to enhance the durability of the material. The core is made from a high density fibreboard (HDF) adding strength to the planks and it is also backed with stabilising cellulose paper.

Solid WoodNo matter what anybody says, the traditional and beautiful nature of a real wood floor is timeless and is sure to enhance the appearance of any interior, whether you are looking for a traditionally designed home, or a more modern decor. Each board of solid wood flooring is precision machined from a single piece of timber and typically finished with a tongue and groove locking system on all sides of the boards. Whether you are looking for your relaxed beech tones, or your more bold and striking walnut oaks, there is a style of wood to match not only every home, but every personality.

Engineered WoodNot to be confused with solid wood flooring. Each board of engineered wood is constructed using multiple layers of intensely pressed wood. The top solid wood later (the veneer) is a layer of solid wood consisting of thicknesses upto 10mm and is available in a wide selection of wood species, finishes and thicknesses in order to accomodate the varying tastes and requirements of our customers. The planks are also supported by a central core in order to add stability to the flooring.

VinylHere at Discount Floors 4U we ensure we only stock the highest quality of vinyl available in terms of structural integrity and design. We stock the popular Heuga SmartWood range which is a high quality selection of vinyl floors which has been through many processes in order to ensure the appearance of a real wood floor. VInyl floors are perfectly suited for any room in your home, especially in areas such as your kitchen, bathroom or conservatory as the nature of vinyl flooring ensures that it is easy to maintain, clean and it retains it’s fantastic appearance.
