I hope your New Year has go*en off to a good start! I trust God has good things in store for you, and for Ocean View, in the coming year. With that in mind, let me challenge you to make 2013 a year of personal growth. Although growth is not entirely up to us, we do have a responsibility to put ourselves in the best position for God’s Spirit to work. We can do that individually and corporately. So, I encourage you to spend time alone with God daily and to be involved in studies with other believers. Sundays and Wednesdays are a good time to do this.

Below is a brief listing of the new Wednesday Evening adult study groups that begin January 9 following the Quarterly Business Meeting. Full descriptions of these groups are available in the church foyer.

Option 1 – BIBLE STUDY: ”THE BOOK OF REVELATION” (Continued from Fall Session) Taught by Dr. Jerry Robertson

Option 2 – “IF YOU WANT TO WALK ON WATER, YOU’VE GOT TO GET OUT OF THE BOAT” By John Ortberg Facilitated by Danay Adams (Men Only)

Option 3 – “MANAGING INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS” Facilitated by Ken Hall & Evere* Douglas (Limit 32)

Option 4 – “MEN ARE LIKE WAFFLES, WOMEN ARE LIKE SPAGHETTI” By Bill & Pam Farrel Facilitated by Gordon & Gigi Baxley

Option 5 – “MODERN SCIENCE AND GENESIS” Taught by Ronald K. Riesz, MD, AAFP, CMD

Option 6 – “WHEN GOD’S PEOPLE PRAY” By Jim Cymbala Facilitated by Pat King (Women Only)

If you have not a*ended on Wednesday evenings in the past, now is a perfect time to start!

In Christ,

Everett

Greetings!Greetings!

IMPORTANT

STUDENT MINISTRY

DATES:

► Join us for FUSE in the Fellowship Hall on Sundays at 6pm! Fuse is an exciting worship experience with relevant teachings. Or, said another way, a rock concert with a lesson.

► Series for the next couple of months include:

“Life of Pie.” A series on responsibility, blame, ownership, and anxiety, espe-cially as it relates to the Garden of Eden.

“Politics, Religion, & Me.” It’s impolite to talk about politics and religion, or so the saying goes. But surprisingly the Bible lays much of the groundwork for both our political parties. What does the Bible say? What do the parties believe? We’ll give you the tools you need to develop a biblical worldview.

“True(ish).” God’s truth is black and white and even though there’s no gray area, that’s where many of us live. We prefer to live according to principles we wish to be true, though they’re subtle knockoffs of Truth with extreme consequences.

► On Sunday, January 20th, Jeremiah Jones will lead FUSE in worship. Grammy award-winning artist Laura Story’s chart topping album “Blessings” featured the song “What A Savior,” a song Jeremiah wrote that reached #5 on Bill- board’s Christian Songs of the Year.

► Join us for TRANSIT upstairs on Wednesdays at 6:15pm! Students are so busy nowadays and are traveling in so many directions. Navigating through all of that is tough work! TRANSIT is Ocean View’s Wednesday night Student Ministry hangout that includes games, teachings, messes, small groups, and music. It’s a time to come together, once a week, before we all leave back out into the chaos.

Our January series is entitled “Dirty Words” and… well, you’ll just have to come to find out!

► Sunday Morning Small Group! Remember, at 10:15 on Sunday mornings we’re studying the book Not A Fan by Kyle Idleman!

David Faust David is requesting member- 220 Sleepy Prong Road ship at Ocean View as a Andrews, SC 29510-5399 candidate for baptism. 843.314.5455
