Introduction

Good mental health plays has a vital impact upon our quality of life and has an effect

upon our ability to attain and maintain good physical health and develop positive

relationships with family and friends. Positive mental health also plays a part in our

ability to achieve success educationally and achieve other life goals and ambitions

including those related to work, hobbies, our home life and sporting and leisure

activities. Mental ill health affects as many as 1 in 4 of us during our life time.

Positive mental health is therefore everyone’s business, and in Wolverhampton we

want to be able to support any one in need of help and advice regarding mental

health matters to access the right support at the right time.

This Directory has been collated and designed by the Positive Action for Mental

Health group members (PA4MH) in collaboration with the Joint Commissioning Unit.

The Directory consists of two parts. Part 1 provides information about services for

adults from the ages of 18 and Part 2 focuses on services for those under the ages

of 18.

Our objective is to provide information regarding services available in the City for

service users and GPs, carers, key workers and care co-ordinators so that people

requiring help and support can access and make best use of the services provided.

We have made every effort to ensure that the directory is as accurate as possible. All

details contained are accurate at the time of publication.

Please note that most services listed are free at the point of entry but some

organisations listed may charge for their services. Some services require a referral

from a GP.

Bus numbers are a general guide of location of services for more specific information

on times and routes please contact 0871200 22 33 or visit www.plusbus.info.

Amendments

Every effort has been made to ensure that the directory is as accurate as possible.

All details contained within were accurate at the time the Directory was being

compiled. If you are aware of any changes that should be made, or any organisation

that has not been listed, please let the Joint Commissioning Team know. The contact

details are [email protected]
